Flight Instructor Position at Epic Aircraft
Epic Aircraft, a leading manufacturer of high-performance, all-carbon fiber, single-engine turboprop aircraft, seeks a skilled and enthusiastic Flight Instructor to join its Aircraft Service & Support department in Bend, Oregon. This full-time, day-shift position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $115,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
The Flight Instructor will provide comprehensive ground and flight instruction on the Epic E1000, the world's fastest single-engine turboprop aircraft. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering standardized initial and recurrent training to E1000 pilots.
- Serving as Pilot in Command for corporate flight missions (ferry, internal training, demonstrations, and acceptance/delivery flights).
- Maintaining proactive communication with clients before, during, and after training events.
- Effectively escalating client and internal issues to ensure exceptional customer service and a positive work environment.
- Resolving discrepancies on newly delivered and corporate aircraft.
- Adhering strictly to all applicable regulations and Epic Aircraft policies during aircraft operation.
- Performing thorough pre-flight preparations, including comprehensive weather assessments.
- Making timely and accurate safety-of-flight decisions.
- Completing all necessary flight documentation and expense reports.
- Maintaining expert aircraft knowledge and serving as a role model for aviation excellence and representing Epic Aircraft with professionalism.
Additional responsibilities may include: airshow sales support; product demonstration and acceptance flights; presentations to internal and external clients; and participation in special projects.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Current and active FAA Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI and CFII) ratings.
- Commercial Pilot ASEL, Instrument Airplane rating.
- Flight Instructor ASE, Instrument Airplane rating.
- Current First or Second Class Medical Certificate.
- 1500 total flight hours.
- 750 hours as an authorized instructor.
- Current IFR rating.
- An impeccable safety record (no violations).
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, air traffic control procedures, and aircraft systems.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
- A current, valid U.S. passport.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Desirable Qualifications:
The following qualifications are considered advantageous:
- Fluency in Portuguese.
- Experience operating turbine aircraft in IFR conditions, congested airspace, mountainous terrain, extensive IMC, and night operations.
- Recent instructing experience in military, Part 142, Part 141, or general aviation settings.
- Recent instructing experience in turboprop or turbofan aircraft.
- Recent instructing experience with advanced avionics (e.g., G1000 NXi).
- Experience providing instruction in simulators or training devices.
- Prior corporate flight experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in training course development.
