Position Overview: Flight Instructor
As a key member of the Flight Department, the Flight Instructor is responsible for instructing in and operating the world's fastest single-engine turboprop, the Epic E1000. This role ensures safe aircraft operation and delivers exceptional customer service to clients and passengers. Primary duties encompass flight training, execution of corporate missions, post-maintenance flight testing, and other assigned duties as required. Comprehensive initial factory training on the Epic E1000 will be provided at no cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide standardized initial and recurrent ground and flight instruction specifically for E1000 pilots.
- Serve as Pilot in Command for Epic aircraft during corporate flight missions, including repositioning, ferry flights, internal training, and delivery acceptance flights.
- Maintain effective communication with clients before and after training engagements.
- Proactively escalate client and internal issues to ensure an outstanding customer experience and foster a collaborative workplace.
- Facilitate the resolution of discrepancies identified on newly delivered and corporate aircraft.
- Operate Epic aircraft in strict adherence to applicable regulations and company policies.
- Perform all necessary preflight preparations, including thorough weather assessments.
- Make and communicate timely, accurate decisions regarding flight safety.
- Complete all required documentation for flights and travel expenses.
- Maintain an advanced level of aircraft knowledge, serving as a model aviator, instructor, and representative of Epic Aircraft.
Additional Duties May Include:
- Providing airshow sales support.
- Conducting Delivery Acceptance flights.
- Delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertaking special projects and assignments as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
- Current and active FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI and CFII) certificate.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate - Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) with Instrument Airplane rating.
- Flight Instructor Certificate - Airplane Single-Engine (ASE) with Instrument Airplane rating.
- Current FAA 1st or 2nd Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 1500 hours of Total Flight Time.
- Minimum of 750 hours of Authorized Instructor Time.
- Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) currency.
- No recorded violations.
- Detailed understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), air traffic control procedures, and aircraft systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- A current, valid U.S. Passport is mandatory.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience operating turbine aircraft in IFR conditions, congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive instrument meteorological conditions (IMC), and at night.
- Recent instructing experience in military, Part 142, Part 141, or General Aviation environments.
- Recent instructing experience in turboprop or turbofan aircraft.
- Recent instructing experience with advanced avionics systems (e.g., Garmin G1000 NXi).
- Experience providing instruction in simulators or training devices.
- Previous corporate flight operations experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Previous experience in training course development.
