Epic Aircraft, a distinguished manufacturer of high-performance, all-carbon fiber, single-engine turboprop aircraft, seeks a highly skilled and motivated Flight Instructor to join its Aircraft Service & Support Department at its headquarters in Bend, Oregon. This full-time, day-shift position offers a competitive annual salary range of $75,000.00 to $115,000.00.
The Flight Instructor will play a crucial role in training pilots to safely operate the Epic E1000, the world's fastest single-engine turboprop. This includes providing standardized initial and recurrent ground and flight instruction, as well as acting as pilot in command for corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training, demonstration flights, and acceptance/delivery flights. Initial Epic Factory Training will be provided at no cost. The successful candidate will maintain clear communication with clients, facilitate the resolution of discrepancies on aircraft, and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and company policies.
Essential duties include: delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a deep level of aircraft knowledge, making timely decisions regarding safety of flight, and completing all necessary paperwork and documentation. Additional duties may include airshow sales support, product demonstration, and presentations.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and hold current and active FAA certifications as a Commercial Pilot ASEL, Instrument Airplane, Flight Instructor ASE, Instrument Airplane, as well as a current 1st or 2nd Class Medical certificate. A minimum of 1500 hours total flight time and 750 hours of authorized instructor time, as well as IFR currency and a clean record is required. A detailed knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations is essential. Candidates must possess a current valid U.S. Passport and be authorized to work in the U.S.
Desirable qualifications include: Portuguese language proficiency, experience operating turbine aircraft in various conditions, recent instructing experience in military, part 142, part 141, or General Aviation, recent instructing experience in turboprop or turbofan aircraft and advanced avionics, simulator instruction experience, corporate flight experience, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
