Position Summary
The Flight Attendant at Eastern Airlines is a vital member of the cabin crew, responsible for upholding the company's values and culture while providing exceptional service to passengers within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in pre-flight briefings, meticulously prepare aircraft, conduct comprehensive safety checks, and complete all required pre-flight reports.
- Ensure the aircraft is adequately stocked with food, beverages, and other essential supplies, managing inventory and facilitating appropriate delivery and restocking as necessary, including collecting payments for services.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting passengers, verifying boarding passes, making clear announcements, addressing inquiries, assisting with baggage stowage, and providing support to passengers requiring special assistance.
- Execute engaging safety demonstrations, provide clear instructions on the use of emergency equipment, explain exit row seating requirements, and skillfully operate audio equipment.
- Maintain cabin compliance with federal aviation regulations prior to take-offs and landings, and conduct periodic checks throughout the flight to ensure optimal passenger comfort and well-being.
- Prepare the cabin and passengers for a smooth landing, adhering strictly to company procedures and federal regulations.
- Respond effectively to all in-flight emergencies, providing crucial direction and assistance to passengers, including administering emergency first aid and accurately completing injury/incident reports.
- Accurately complete and submit all required forms, reports, and administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
- Interact with all customers and vendors demonstrating the highest level of courtesy and respect.
- Perform additional aviation-related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualification Requirements
- Authorization to work legally in the United States is required.
- Possession of a valid U.S. Passport, with a minimum validity of six (6) months from the date of application.
- Availability to work a minimum of eighteen (18) days per month.
- A high school diploma, GED, or higher educational attainment.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21 years at the time of application.
- Ability to successfully pass comprehensive drug and alcohol checks, a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test, and a thorough Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
- Must possess and maintain a personal cell phone for communication purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Capable of serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with regulations.
- Prior customer service experience is required; hospitality or retail experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to travel to Canada and other international destinations, maintaining all necessary and valid travel documents without any impediment preventing entry.
- Physical capability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds, and to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, stretch, and/or bend for extended periods of up to 14 hours or more.
- Flexibility to work variable blocks of duty days each month, including potential for extended periods away from the home base, encompassing nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability to attend and successfully complete mandatory Initial Flight Attendant training and Operational Experience as required by Eastern Airlines.
- Commitment to maintaining a polished, professional, and conservative appearance at all times while on duty.
- Strict adherence to the company's appearance policy: no visible tattoos or body piercings are permitted while on duty, without exception.
- Proven ability to multitask effectively and perform under pressure within a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment.
