Important Information for Applicants
Delta Air Lines is actively recruiting both English-speaking and Bilingual Flight Attendants to join our In-Flight Services team. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply as a Bilingual Flight Attendant, also known as Language of Destination (LOD). Fluency in English and at least one other language is required for the Bilingual Flight Attendant position.
Given the round-the-clock nature of our flight operations, Flight Attendants must be flexible with their schedules. Workdays may include early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Selected candidates will participate in seven consecutive weeks of paid training at our World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Lodging and some meals will be provided for participants who reside outside a 25-mile radius of the training facility.
Upon successful completion of training, Flight Attendants will be assigned to one of our 14 bases across the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Orlando, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City. Please note that base options may vary based on operational requirements and may differ for Bilingual (LOD) Flight Attendants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety-conscious practices in all operational procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish tasks effectively.
- Adapt to unexpected changes in a time-sensitive and potentially stressful environment.
- Provide clear and accurate information, assistance, and directions to passengers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of safety and emergency equipment.
- Administer and coordinate emergency procedures, including CPR and basic first aid.
- Adhere to Delta policies, procedures, and core values when addressing passenger inquiries or resolving issues.
- Prepare, serve, and sell beverages (including alcohol) and meals.
- Assist passengers with luggage storage in overhead bins.
- Ensure passenger safety and comfort during flight delays or turbulence.
- Deliver clear and concise public address and safety announcements.
- Perform duties effectively in changing environments, including the physiological effects of altitude.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Minimum age of 21 at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fluency in English (spoken, read, written, and understood).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport with at least 30 months of validity remaining before the first day of training.
- Ability to provide documentation demonstrating the ability to enter and exit the United States without restriction (for non-US passport holders).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test and comprehensive background check, including a government-required fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to maneuver a food/beverage cart requiring 32 pounds of force to push or pull.
- Commitment to maintaining passenger privacy when handling personal data.

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to reach and store items in overhead bins up to 74 inches from the floor.
- Willingness to accept assignment to any Flight Attendant base after training, as dictated by operational needs (Bilingual/LOD candidates will be required to remain at their assigned base for a minimum of 4 years after training).
- Flexibility to relocate or commute (via standby travel) to and from the assigned base location.
- Willingness to fly both domestic and international routes.
- Adaptability to changing demands and schedules.
- Adherence to all company policies, including Delta's Candidate Appearance Requirements (outlined in our Flight Attendant Hiring Process Guide).
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience in a role with responsibilities similar to those of a Flight Attendant.
- Post-secondary education (degree or certification).
