Key Responsibilities of the Flight Attendant
The Flight Attendant is expected to uphold Delta’s core values through meticulous adherence to policy and consistent, exceptional performance. Key duties include:
- Prioritizing and executing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures, including the ability to operate safety and emergency equipment and ensure compliance with federal standards.
- Administering and coordinating emergency procedures or providing necessary care, such as performing CPR and basic first aid, when required.
- Providing clear, accurate directions (verbal and non-verbal) to customers during emergency scenarios.
- Delivering exceptional customer service, responding to in-flight needs with professionalism, and assisting customers with unique needs or circumstances.
- Preparing, serving, and selling a range of beverages (including alcohol) and meals.
- Assisting customers in lifting and stowing luggage into overhead bins (bins reaching up to 74 inches).

- Demonstrating consistent punctuality and reliability by reporting to duty as scheduled, remaining adaptable to last-minute schedule adjustments and operational demands.

Logistical and Operational Requirements
This is a global operation requiring significant personal flexibility:
- Scheduling: Flight Attendants must be willing to support a global operation working non-traditional business hours, including early mornings, late nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours due to operational necessities.
- Training: New hires must successfully complete seven consecutive weeks of paid training located at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Shared lodging and some meals are provided for eligible participants.
- Base Assignment: Upon successful graduation, the Flight Attendant will be assigned to one of Delta’s 19 operating bases (which may include hubs such as Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, and New York). Candidates must be willing to accept assignment to any base dictated by the needs of the operation and must be flexible enough to relocate or commute.
- Bilingual Candidates (LOD): Delta seeks both English-speaking and **Bilingual Flight Attendants (Language of Destination or LOD)**. LOD candidates must be fluent in English and one of the following languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Korean, or Swedish. LOD candidates will be required to remain within their assigned base for a minimum of two years post-training.
Minimum Qualifications
