Position Summary
Contour Airlines is actively seeking highly motivated, safety-conscious, and customer-focused individuals to join its dynamic team as a Flight Attendant. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of passengers while delivering exceptional service in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures. The Flight Attendant maintains cabin safety, conducts essential safety demonstrations, responds effectively to in-flight emergencies, and provides clear, professional communication to both passengers and fellow crew members.
This essential position demands meticulous attention to detail, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure. The successful candidate will adeptly follow established safety protocols, consistently provide exemplary service, professionally manage diverse in-flight situations, and accurately complete all required documentation and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety and Emergency Procedures:
- Performs all work activities in strict accordance with established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including FAA regulations.
- Responds effectively during emergency situations by implementing instructions from the flight deck and adhering to required safety and emergency procedures.
- Guides and directs passengers (verbally or non-verbally) during emergency situations, such as evacuations, to minimize impact and protect passengers and crew.
- Provides emergency medical assistance, including performing CPR and basic first aid, to individuals in distress.
- Ensures the aircraft and passengers are in full compliance with all company policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
- Is capable of opening emergency exits and closing aircraft doors, handling weights up to 60 pounds.
- Is able to push and pull heavy beverage/food carts, requiring up to 32 pounds of force.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Passenger Service Excellence:
- Actively ensures the safety and comfort of all customers.
- Provides exemplary customer service, striving to satisfy and exceed passenger expectations.
- Assists passengers with lifting and stowing luggage, including baggage, garments, and other items, into overhead bins or other storage areas, soliciting assistance when necessary.
- Attends to individuals needing assistance (such as unaccompanied minors, individuals with a disability, and the elderly) throughout aircraft operations.
- Prepares and serves meals, snacks, and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Operational Duties:
- Performs required work duties proficiently within an aircraft environment.
- Utilizes all galley/cabin service equipment and the in-flight entertainment system unsupervised.
- Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the aircraft's cabin, galley, and lavatory.
- Restocks the galley, following established procedures to ensure the aircraft is properly provisioned. This includes ordering and picking up catering items, checking expiration dates on food and drinks, ensuring no food items are left onboard post-deplaning, and notifying Inflight Services Leadership of low inventory.
- Communication and Professionalism:
- Maintains a polished and professional appearance at all times.
- Projects and maintains a positive attitude and composure consistently.
- Effectively communicates verbally to make onboard public address announcements, complete safety demonstrations, and provide instructions to others.
- Communicates in writing to complete paperwork and detailed reports regarding incidents and/or discrepancies.
- Works both independently and as an integral part of a team to accomplish work tasks.
- Complies with other tasks as assigned by management or the Pilot-in-Command, and Inflight Services leadership.
- Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Adjusts to a rotating schedule with variable days off and hours, which could include duty days ranging from two (2) to up to sixteen (16) hours.
- Is willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and to be away from home for extended periods, sometimes weeks.
- Is able to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Is capable of retrieving and storing items in overhead bins, which can be as high as 67 inches from the floor.
- Performs tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, and reaching above shoulder level, and reaching inside overhead bins.
- Is exposed to peanuts, pets, and other potential allergens within the aircraft cabin.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and authorized to travel to and from the United States.
- Possession of a valid passport is required.
- Successful completion of a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and subsequent submission to DOT-mandated random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Ability to pass an FAA/TSA required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history record and fingerprint checks.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory.
- Successful completion of Contour Airlines' four (4) week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
- Must reside within two (2) hours of the assigned base.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised effectively.
- Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a consistently positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Well-developed people skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to work in a safe, professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
- Must be willing to accept a base assignment in Nashville, TN (BNA).
Compensation and Benefits
Contour Airlines recognizes the invaluable contribution of its team members and offers a competitive compensation and benefits package for full-time employees, including:
- Starting Annual Salary: Begins at $42,000.00, with annual increases up to a maximum salary of $52,450.00.
- Retention Bonus: Up to $2,000.00 per year once the maximum salary is reached.

- Eligible to receive vacation hours on January 1st following hire date.
- Hours are vested and available for use in accordance with Company policies.
- Non-Revenue/Space Available (NRSA) Travel Privileges:
- NRSA travel privileges on Contour Airlines upon hire.
- Access to MyID Travel after 6 months of active service.
- Leaves of Absence:
- Eligibility for various types of leave, including Medical Leave, Non-Medical Family Care Leave, Maternity and Paternity Leave, and Personal Leave.
