Summary of Essential Duties
The Flight Attendant is integral to ensuring the utmost safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers. This role demands the delivery of exceptional customer service in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures. Key responsibilities include maintaining cabin safety, conducting comprehensive safety demonstrations, responding effectively to in-flight emergencies, and fostering clear, professional communication with both passengers and crew members.
Success in this position requires a keen attention to detail, superior interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in adhering to established safety protocols, providing outstanding service, managing in-flight situations with professionalism, and completing all required documentation with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned duties within an aircraft environment, adhering strictly to established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including those set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration.
- Operate all galley/cabin service equipment and in-flight entertainment systems independently.
- Collaborate effectively both independently and as part of a team to achieve work objectives.
- Proactively ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
- Deliver exemplary customer service to consistently meet and exceed passenger expectations.
- Assist passengers with lifting and stowing luggage, including personal garments and other items, into overhead bins or designated storage areas, and solicit assistance when necessary.
- Attend to passengers requiring special assistance, such as unaccompanied minors, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly, throughout all phases of aircraft operations.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Project and maintain a positive attitude and composure under all circumstances.
- Demonstrate dependability and a strong commitment to completing all work assignments.
- Manage time effectively to complete work assignments punctually and efficiently.
- Perceive, understand, and respond appropriately to written and oral communications, including warnings.
- Communicate effectively in writing to complete required paperwork and detailed reports concerning incidents and discrepancies.
- Adapt to a rotating schedule featuring variable days off and hours, which may include duty days up to 16 hours, with typical duty periods ranging from two to 14 hours.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with the expectation of extended periods away from home.
- Securely sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Retrieve and store items in overhead bins, which may be positioned up to 67 inches from the floor.
- Exposure to common allergens such as peanuts and pets.
- Perform tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, reaching above shoulder level, and reaching inside overhead bins for item retrieval or storage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the aircraft cabin, galley, and lavatory.
- Restock and organize the galley.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Comply with all tasks assigned by management or the Pilot-in-Command.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by Inflight Services leadership.
Flight Attendant Specific Responsibilities
- Respond effectively during emergency situations by implementing instructions from the flight deck and adhering to required safety and emergency procedures.
- Guide and direct passengers verbally or non-verbally during emergency situations, such as evacuations, to mitigate impact and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
- Provide emergency medical assistance, including performing CPR and basic first aid, to individuals in distress.
- Ensure the aircraft and passengers are in full compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
- Communicate effectively verbally to make onboard public address announcements, conduct safety demonstrations, and provide instructions to others.
- Willingness to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors, which may weigh up to 60 pounds, and push/pull heavy beverage/food carts requiring up to 32 pounds of force.
Cabin Attendant Specific Responsibilities
- Restock the galley, adhering to established procedures to ensure the aircraft is adequately supplied.
- Order and retrieve catering items requested by passengers.
- Verify expiration dates on all food and beverage items.
- Ensure that food items are not left on the aircraft after passengers have deplaned.
- Notify Inflight Services Leadership when inventory stock is running low.
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement of 23 years.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a valid passport.
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to travel internationally.
- Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Successful completion of Contour's four-week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program is required.
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and participate in ongoing random testing.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive 10-year background check, criminal history review, fingerprinting, and reference checks.
- Ability to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and duty periods up to 16 hours.
- Must reside within a one-hour drive of the assigned domicile.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong interpersonal skills complemented by a polished, professional, and customer-focused attitude.

Compensation Details
- The starting annual salary for this position is $42,000.00, with potential annual increases up to a maximum salary of $52,000.00.
- A retention bonus of up to $2,000.00 per year is available once the maximum salary is reached.

Non-Revenue/Space Available (NRSA) Travel Privileges
- NRSA travel privileges on Contour are available upon hire, with access to MyID Travel provided after six months of active service.
