The Flight Attendant performs essential duties within the aircraft environment, adhering to established standards, policies, laws, and Federal Aviation Administration regulations. The individual will operate galley/cabin service equipment and in-flight entertainment systems unsupervised. The Flight Attendant will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure customer safety and comfort, providing exemplary customer service. This includes assisting with luggage, attending to individuals needing assistance, preparing and serving refreshments, and maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Dependability, time management, and clear communication skills are essential for completing work assignments and addressing any incidents or discrepancies. The Flight Attendant must be able to adjust to a rotating schedule with variable days off and hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be willing to travel for extended periods. The position requires sitting in an assigned jump seat, retrieving and storing items in overhead bins, and exposure to allergens. The Flight Attendant will also maintain the appearance of the aircraft cabin, galley, and lavatory, restock the galley, practice safety-conscious behaviors, and comply with assigned tasks.

Flight Attendant-specific duties include responding to emergency situations, guiding passengers during emergencies, providing emergency medical assistance, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety measures, and effectively communicating with passengers through announcements and safety demonstrations. The role requires the ability to open emergency exits and manage heavy beverage/food carts.

Cabin Attendant-specific duties include restocking the galley, ensuring the aircraft is properly provisioned, ordering and picking up catering items, checking expiration dates, and notifying leadership of inventory needs.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and authorized to travel to and from the United States.
  • Requires either three (3) years of corporate Cabin Attendant experience or prior experience as a Flight Attendant.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT mandated random drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history record and fingerprint checks.
  • Possess a valid driver license and good driving record.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Contour's four (4) week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English. Bilingual is preferred but not required.
  • Must live within one (1) hour of assigned base.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.

Benefits:

As a full-time employee of Contour Airlines, the successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental coverage, short-term/long-term disability, and voluntary life insurance policies, effective the first day of the month following the date of hire. Employees are also eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) savings plan with a company match of up to 6%, effective the first day of the month following the date of hire. Paid sick leave, vested vacation hours, and non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel privileges are also offered after completing six active months of service. Employees are eligible for various leaves of absence.

The starting annual salary for this position is $42,000.00, with eligibility for yearly increases based on performance, up to $52,452.24. Pay incentives for additional trips worked or assigned may also be available based on schedule and performance thresholds.
