Summary of the Role:
A Flight Attendant at Contour Airlines plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers while adhering to all established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including Federal Aviation Administration requirements. This position requires a professional demeanor, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to handle both routine duties and emergency situations effectively. Flight Attendants must maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate reliability, and possess strong time management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all work duties within an aircraft environment in accordance with established standards and regulations.
- Utilize galley/cabin service equipment and in-flight entertainment systems unsupervised.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Actively ensure the safety and comfort of all customers, striving to exceed expectations.
- Provide assistance with lifting and stowing luggage in overhead bins or other storage areas, seeking assistance when needed.
- Attend to passengers requiring special assistance, such as unaccompanied minors, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages.
- Maintain the appearance of the aircraft cabin, galley, and lavatory.
- Manage time effectively to complete assignments and ensure punctuality.
- Understand and respond to written and oral communications and warnings.
- Complete required paperwork and detailed reports regarding incidents or discrepancies.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes.
- Comply with directives from management and the Pilot-in-Command.
Flight Attendant Specific Duties:
- Respond effectively during emergency situations, implementing instructions from the flight deck and following safety and emergency procedures.
- Guide or direct passengers verbally or non-verbally during emergencies, such as evacuations.
- Provide basic emergency medical assistance (e.g., CPR, first aid) as needed.
- Ensure aircraft and passenger compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
- Deliver onboard public address announcements, safety demonstrations, and instructions clearly.
- Operate emergency exits and aircraft doors (requiring strength to open/close).
- Push and pull beverage/food carts (requiring force).
Cabin Attendant Specific Duties:
- Manage galley inventory and restocking procedures according to established guidelines.
- Order and pick up catering items.
- Check expiration dates on food and beverage items.
- Ensure no food items are left on the aircraft after deplaning.
- Notify Inflight Services Leadership of low inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 23 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and authorized to travel to and from the United States.
- Requires three (3) years of corporate Cabin Attendant experience or prior Flight Attendant experience.
- Must possess a valid passport.
- Ability to pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and submit to subsequent DOT mandated random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Ability to pass a required 10-year work history review, criminal history record check, and fingerprint checks.
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete Contour's four (4) week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Bilingual proficiency is preferred but not required.
- Must reside within one (1) hour of the assigned Fort Lauderdale (FLL) base.
- Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules, including duty days up to 16 hours and periods away from home for weeks at a time.
- Ability to work unsupervised effectively.

- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, reaching above shoulder level, and reaching inside overhead bins (up to 67" high).
- Ability to tolerate exposure to common allergens such as peanuts and pet dander.
- Ability to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
Benefits:
Eligible full-time employees receive comprehensive benefits including health, vision, and dental coverage, short-term/long-term disability, and voluntary life insurance, effective on the first day of the month following the hire date. Employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) savings plan with a company match up to 6%, also effective on the first day of the month following the hire date. Paid sick leave is accrued up to 56 hours per year, with a rollover bank cap of 480 hours. Vested vacation hours become available on January 1st following the hire date. Non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel privileges are available after six active months of service. A variety of leaves of absence are also available.
Additional Information:
The starting annual salary is $42,000.00, with eligibility for yearly increases based on performance and pay anniversary date, up to a maximum salary of $52,452.24. Depending on schedule and meeting certain thresholds, eligibility exists for pay incentives for additional trips, paid in addition to the monthly salary.
