Position Summary
Contour Airlines is actively seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Flight Attendant to join its dynamic full-time team in White Plains, NY. This essential role ensures the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers while upholding the highest operational standards. Key Responsibilities
Safety and Emergency Procedures
- Performs all required duties within the aircraft environment, strictly adhering to established standards, policies, laws, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
- Responds effectively during emergency situations by implementing instructions from the flight deck and following all required safety and emergency protocols.
- Guides and directs passengers during emergency events, such as evacuations, to minimize impact and ensure the safety of all crew and passengers.
- Provides emergency medical assistance, including performing CPR and basic first aid, to individuals in distress.
- Ensures the aircraft and passengers are in full compliance with all company policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Customer Service and In-Flight Experience
- Provides exemplary customer service, striving to satisfy and exceed passenger expectations.
- Maintains a professional appearance and projects a positive attitude and composure at all times.
- Assists passengers with lifting and stowing luggage (including baggage, garments, and other items) into overhead bins or other storage areas, soliciting assistance when needed.
- Attends to individuals needing assistance, such as unaccompanied minors, passengers with disabilities, and the elderly, throughout all aircraft operations.
- Prepares and serves meals, snacks, and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Utilizes all galley/cabin service equipment and the in-flight entertainment system unsupervised.
Aircraft Operations and Maintenance
- Maintains the pristine appearance of the aircraft’s cabin, galley, and lavatory throughout the flight.
- Executes thorough galley restocking procedures, which include:
- Following established protocols to ensure the aircraft is adequately provisioned.
- Ordering and picking up requested catering items for passengers.
- Checking expiration dates on food items and drinks.
- Ensuring no food items are left on the aircraft once passengers have deplaned.
- Notifying Inflight Services Leadership promptly when inventory stock is running low.
Communication and Administration
- Communicates effectively verbally to deliver onboard public address announcements, conduct safety demonstrations, and provide clear instructions.
- Completes detailed written reports and paperwork regarding incidents and/or discrepancies.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Manages time efficiently to complete all required work assignments and ensure overall punctuality.
- Perceives, understands, and responds accurately to written and oral communications and warnings.
- Must be able to adjust to a rotating schedule with variable days off, variable hours that could include up to a 16-hour duty day (ranging from two to 14 hours).
- Expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be away from home for extended periods, sometimes weeks.
- Sits in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Retrieves and stores items in overhead bins, which can be as high as 67 inches from the floor.
- Performs tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, reaching above shoulder level, and reaching inside overhead bins.
- Must be willing to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to push and pull heavy beverage/food carts requiring 32 lbs of force.
- May be exposed to peanuts, pets, and other allergens within the aircraft environment.
- Complies with all other tasks as assigned by management or the Pilot-in-Command.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and authorized to travel to and from the United States.
- Possession of a valid passport is required.
- Requires either three (3) years of corporate Cabin Attendant experience or prior experience as a Flight Attendant.
- Must successfully pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT-mandated random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Ability to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history record and fingerprint checks.
- Possesses a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Must successfully complete Contour Airlines' four (4) week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is mandatory; bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
- Must reside within one (1) hour of the assigned base.
- Demonstrates the ability to work unsupervised effectively.
- Possesses polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Exhibits strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Possesses well-developed people skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a variety of personalities.
- Capable of coordinating multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and handling interruptions in a fast-paced environment.

- Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Committed to working in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
Benefits & Compensation
Compensation
- The starting annual salary for this position is $42,000.00.
- Based on performance and pay anniversary date, eligible team members may receive yearly increases until the salary reaches $52,452.24.
- Eligible for pay incentives for additional trips worked or assigned, which are paid in addition to the monthly salary, based on schedule and achievement of certain thresholds.

- Retirement Savings: Eligible to participate in the 401(k) savings plan, effective the first day of the month following the date of hire, with a generous company match of up to 6%.
- Paid Time Off: Accrues up to 56 hours of paid sick leave per year, which rolls over annually until a bank of 480 hours is reached. Vested vacation hours are available on January 1st following the date of hire.
- Travel Privileges: Eligible for non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel privileges after completing six active months of service.
- Leave of Absence: Eligible for a variety of leaves of absence, including medical leave, non-medical leave for family care, maternity leave, paternity leave, and personal leave.
