Position Overview
The Flight Attendant serves as a vital member of the Inflight Services team, primarily responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers aboard Contour Airlines aircraft. This role requires adherence to strict safety standards, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and maintain the safety and security of passengers and crew in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company policies.
- Execute all work duties within the aircraft cabin, galley, and lavatory environments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using all galley/cabin service equipment and the in-flight entertainment system.
- Provide exemplary customer service, anticipating and exceeding passenger expectations.
- Assist passengers with luggage storage in overhead bins and other designated areas, soliciting assistance as needed.
- Offer attentive care to individuals requiring special assistance, including unaccompanied minors, passengers with disabilities, and the elderly.
- Prepare and serve food, snacks, and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times, projecting a positive attitude and composure.
- Manage time effectively to complete assignments, ensuring punctuality and dependable performance.
- Comprehend and respond to written and oral communications, including safety warnings.
- Complete accurate written reports regarding incidents or discrepancies.
- Respond effectively during emergency situations, implementing flight deck instructions and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.
- Guide or direct passengers verbally or non-verbally during emergencies like evacuations.
- Provide emergency medical assistance, including performing CPR and basic first aid, if needed.
- Ensure passenger and aircraft compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
- Deliver clear and effective verbal communication through public address announcements, safety demonstrations, and instruction to passengers.
- Operate emergency exits and aircraft doors (up to 60 pounds) and maneuver heavy beverage/food carts (requiring up to 32 lbs of force).
- Maintain stock in the galley, including ordering, checking expiration dates, and ensuring proper inventory management.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Inflight Services leadership or the Pilot-in-Command.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The position involves working in an aircraft cabin, which may include exposure to various allergens (e.g., peanuts, pets). Physical demands include:
- Frequent walking, bending to ankle level, and reaching above shoulder level.
- Reaching into overhead bins (up to 67" from the floor).
- Sitting in an assigned jump seat with restraints.
- Adjusting to a rotating schedule with variable days off and hours, potentially including duty days up to 16 hours.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and be away from home for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible for international travel.
- Requires three (3) years of corporate Cabin Attendant experience OR prior experience as a Flight Attendant.
- Must possess a valid passport.
- Ability to pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random testing.
- Successful completion of a required 10-year work history review, criminal history record check, and fingerprint checks.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete Contour's four-week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Bilingualism is preferred but not required.
- Must reside within one (1) hour of the assigned base (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
- Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possess polished, professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and customer-oriented mindset.
- Exhibit strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to adhere to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting annual salary is $42,000.00, with eligibility for yearly increases based on performance up to $52,452.24.
- Eligibility for pay incentives for additional trips, based on schedule and thresholds.
- Comprehensive benefits package effective the first day of the month following hire, including health, vision, dental, short-term/long-term disability, and voluntary life insurance.
- Participation in a 401(k) savings plan effective the first day of the month following hire, with a company match up to 6%.
- Accrual of up to 56 hours of paid sick leave per year, rolling over up to 480 hours.
- Eligibility for vested vacation hours on January 1st following the hire date.
- Eligibility for non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel privileges after six months of active service.
- Eligibility for various leaves of absence, including medical, family care, maternity, paternity, and personal leave.
