Position Summary

The Flight Attendant performs and assists in the execution of inflight safety protocols, high-quality customer service, and cabin preparation. As a vital member of the flight crew, the incumbent communicates and cooperates with flight and ground personnel to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure onboard safety standards are met and passengers comply with FAA and company regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while representing CommuteAir and United Airlines.
  • Complete all required checklists, paperwork, and reports in accordance with the Flight Attendant Manual.
  • Coordinate effectively with pilots and ground crews for safe, efficient flight operations.
  • Maintain readiness to manage emergency situations at any time.
  • Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

General Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid passport (U.S. or foreign) with applicable VISAs, with the ability to travel freely to all CommuteAir destinations.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Satisfactory 10-year background check, including criminal history.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Commitment to company uniform and grooming standards (no visible tattoos or piercings, except in the ears).
  • Demonstrated professionalism, mathematical aptitude, reading comprehension, active listening, and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. consistently.
  • Height must be between 4'11" and 5'11" (measured without shoes) due to cabin height restrictions.
  • Ability to push and control a beverage cart weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, and twist within confined spaces.
  • Ability to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits.
  • Ability to hear clearly in loud environments.
  • All requirements must be achievable with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Primarily indoor operations with exposure to outdoor elements and varied temperatures (below 32°F to over 90°F).
  • Noise: High-noise environment necessitating elevated volume for communication.
  • Atmospheric Conditions: Potential for cabin discomfort and heightened movement.
