Flight Attendant
CommuteAir, a dedicated United Airlines partner operating over 1,600 weekly flights, seeks a highly motivated and customer-focused Flight Attendant. As a member of the crew, the Flight Attendant performs all inflight safety, customer service, and cabin preparation duties, while communicating and cooperating with flight and ground crews. This role is based at either Saarinen Cir, Dulles, VA, or IAH Terminal C Departure, Houston, TX.

Essential Functions:
- Ensures safety standards are met and passengers comply with FAA and company regulations and policies.
- Provides outstanding customer service and assists passengers onboard, representing CommuteAir and codeshare partner United Airlines.
- Completes necessary checklists, paperwork, and reports as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual.
- Communicates effectively with pilots and ground crew to ensure efficient and safe flight operations.
- Remains prepared to handle emergencies at any time during a flight.
- Complies with company policies as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Performs other duties as assigned and agreed upon in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
General Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid United States or foreign passport with applicable VISAs, allowing unrestricted travel in and out of the United States and to all cities served by CommuteAir.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Satisfactory 10-year background history, including criminal background check.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
- Ability to comply with company uniform and grooming standards while on duty.
- No visible tattoos or piercings (other than in the ears) are permitted.
- Demonstrates professionalism, maintaining composure and a professional appearance.
- Proficient in mathematics for problem-solving and paperwork completion.
- Possesses strong reading comprehension skills for understanding work-related documents.
- Exhibits active listening skills, asking clarifying questions as appropriate.
- Capable of evaluating new information for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with passengers, coworkers, and vendor/contractor representatives.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires medium work, exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs of force consistently to move objects.
- Ability to push and control a beverage cart weighing up to 250 lbs on wheels.
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, twist, and move in confined spaces.
- Ability to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits.
- Ability to hear clearly in a loud environment.

Visual Acuity:
Requires visual acuity for tasks such as inspection, close assembly, clerical administration, preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer work, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, assembly, or fabrication of parts.
Environmental Conditions:
- Varied weather conditions; activities occur primarily indoors, but the incumbent may be exposed to outside elements, including weather variations from over 90 degrees to under 32 degrees, depending on location and climate changes.
- Noise levels may require the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise at times.
- Atmospheric conditions may cause heightened movement and cabin discomfort.
