Flight Attendant: Embark on a Rewarding Journey
As a CommuteAir Flight Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers while delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires a unique blend of responsibility, composure, and a genuine passion for the aviation industry.
Essential Functions:
- Uphold the highest safety standards onboard, ensuring passenger compliance with all FAA and company regulations and policies.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, representing both CommuteAir and our codeshare partner, United Airlines, with professionalism and courtesy.
- Meticulously complete all necessary checklists, paperwork, and reports as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual.
- Communicate effectively with pilots and ground crew to guarantee the efficient and safe operation of all flights.
- Maintain constant readiness to handle emergencies throughout the duration of each flight.
- Adhere to all company policies as detailed in the Flight Attendant Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and agreed upon in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, or authorized alien).
- Valid United States or foreign passport with applicable visas; unrestricted travel rights to and from all cities served by CommuteAir.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Satisfactory 10-year background check, including criminal history.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming standards while on duty (no visible tattoos or piercings other than ears).
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and a positive demeanor.
- Proficiency in mathematics, reading comprehension, and active listening.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for interacting with passengers, colleagues, and vendors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. consistently.
- Capability to push and control a fully loaded beverage cart (up to 250 lbs.).
- Physical dexterity for reaching, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, and maneuvering within confined spaces.
- Ability to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits.
- Clear hearing in loud environments.
- All requirements should be achievable with or without accommodation.
Visual Acuity:
Must meet the visual acuity standards for "Machine Operators with Inspection," involving close assembly, clerical, and administrative tasks. This includes data analysis, accounting, computer use, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects and parts, and operation of machines with measuring devices.
Environmental Conditions:
- Exposure to varied weather conditions, ranging from extreme heat to sub-freezing temperatures.
- Potential exposure to high noise levels, requiring raised voices for communication.
- Possible discomfort due to varying atmospheric conditions during flights.
