Role Introduction

To actively support the management of the cabin crew base performance in addition to conducting operational functions such as scheduling and pre-flight planning, personnel related administration for the base and ensuring clear communication with cabin crew and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management and Communication

  • To deputise for the Cabin Crew Manager as required
  • Take a proactive role in strengthening the bonds between cabin crew and management
  • Help to build and maintain strong working relationships with the base cabin crew community and office teams
  • Be a source of support and guidance for local cabin crew to enable them to adapt to the changing business and operational environment
  • Liaise with Airports and other departments as necessary

Performance Management

  • Help to enhance the performance standard of cabin crew through positive reinforcement and recognition in order to drive a high performing culture
  • Provide regular feedback, counselling and support to cabin crew for the setting of goals and developmental plans
  • Manage attendance
  • Conduct first stage investigations for passenger complaints, punctuality, uniform and grooming infractions and grievances and disciplinary meetings with the Manager
  • Counsel and coach probationary and non-probationary cabin crew
  • Coach and resolve crew-to-crew issues
  • Monitor cabin crew performance records, provide coaching as necessary to ensure communication of high/low scores
  • Help to administer the local recognition programme

Roster Preparation

  • Gather and send all relevant information for roster preparation to Crew Resources
  • Liaise with Crew Resources and Crew Operations for roster changes, advise crew etc.
  • Action last minute swaps, special requests and other last minute requirements

Administration and Workforce Planning

  • Ensure the integrity of Cathay Pacific cabin safety and security policies and procedures are maintained at all times
  • Monitor the day to day operation and oversee general base office administration
  • Ensure crew report and depart on time and liaise with ground staff in regard to any disruptions to flight schedules
  • Interact with crew, issue notices via email or bulletin board with regards to inflight services, crew administration and base specific information
  • Receive sick call-ins and make roster adjustments
  • Ensure relevant file letters are issued and filed (i.e. employment letters, confirmation letters after probation, letters for visa application, etc.)
  • Process resignations and all leave requests

Recruitment, Selection and Promotion

  • Prepare recruitment materials as required
  • Compile file data for merit based promotions
  • Participate in recruitment, selection and promotion activities as required

E&A

  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Tertiary Education or equivalent in a Human Resources Discipline

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • At least 5 years relevant work experience in airline industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong computer literacy e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Knowledge of cabin crew operational environment and standards (safety, service, etc.)
