About the Role
This position supports critical Joint Tactical Operations (JTO) Interface Training Programs. The focus is on ensuring operational forces are equipped to fully leverage JTO Interface Systems through comprehensive training and exercise support. The role involves planning, developing, coordinating, and managing training programs, including courseware development, formal academic instruction, and support for joint exercises globally. This dynamic role conducts extensive training annually for both U.S. and Allied forces across various international locations. A Skillbridge opportunity is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
The Training Instructor's responsibilities include:
- Developing, conducting instruction for, and maintaining JID courses.
- Serving as a liaison with operational Combatant Commander staffs for exercise planning and preparation.
- Preparing or reviewing OPTASK LINK messages for use in JTO exercises.
- Assisting in the selection, modification, or request of Link 16 networks to support JTO exercises.
- Performing analysis of multi-TDL architecture performance and implementing necessary changes.
- Coordinating with development and acquisition agencies for the procurement and evaluation of JICO automated tools.
- Maintaining configuration management of JICO automated tools.
- Representing JID at joint and combined interoperability working groups.
- Managing course planning and administration, including scheduling, hands-on field training coordination, student briefs, handout materials, and administrative processes.
- Developing, instructing, revising, and maintaining JID course materials, including curriculum reviews, courseware development, and multimedia enhancements, particularly for electronic classroom environments.
- Supporting world-wide deployed mobile training team requirements, often operating under field conditions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of four (4) years of Multi TDL experience and training, or participation in a Skillbridge opportunity.
- Prior experience as a military instructor.
- The ability to travel and support worldwide deployments with Mobile Training Teams, potentially in field conditions.
- An Associate Degree is required, or one year of related experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
- Must hold a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) or curriculum development.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The role primarily operates within a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment. It requires the ability to sit for extended periods and involves travel to both CONUS and international sites.
