Overview
CAE is seeking an experienced and passionate aviation professional to join our team as an Instructor Pilot. This role is integral to delivering high-quality flight simulation and ground school training, ensuring pilots achieve and maintain the highest standards of safety and proficiency. The Instructor Pilot serves as a vital Subject Matter Expert, guiding clients through comprehensive training programs.
Role and Responsibilities
The Instructor Pilot is primarily responsible for delivering flight training in simulators and conducting ground school sessions. These duties must be performed in strict accordance with relevant regulatory agency guidelines, CAE-approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing instruction across various aircraft types for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conducting thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings aligned with CAE standards.
- Performing necessary administrative tasks such as completing training records, recommending remedial training when required, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and contributing to the creation of curricula and courseware as needed.
- Opportunity exists for designated Instructors to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman, typically after 1.5 or more years, based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold or meet qualifications to receive an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Requires a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot in Command (PIC) Type Rating.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching others, supported by strong communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Mandatory participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Authorization to live and work in the United States is required.
- Experience flying business aircraft is considered a plus.

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements for this role include:
- Sufficient physical dexterity for tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sit comfortably in a confined space for periods of 4-6 hours with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended durations, potentially up to 10 hours, with limited breaks.
- Capability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as needed.
