C-130/L-382 Aircraft Navigator Instructor
CAE is seeking a qualified C-130/L-382 Aircraft Navigator Instructor to plan, organize, and provide instruction on legacy and advanced avionics systems. Instruction will be delivered in simulator, classroom, and practical environments, encompassing Crew Resource Management and Night Vision Imaging Systems. This is an on-call (fixed term) position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide C130/L-382 instruction in flight rules, navigation, and performance manual subjects.
- Instruct students in crew resource management and night vision systems.
- Develop curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and courseware for assigned courses.
- Generate post-training evaluation reports.
- Direct, coordinate, and lead aircrew activities during simulator training sessions.
- Operate the simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) during training.
- Maintain a current level of knowledge through training courses and self-study.
- Ensure all instruction is conducted with safety as the highest priority.
- Maintain credibility and attention from customer attendees.
- Clearly express procedures, physical processes, and concepts to domestic and international customers.
- Maintain math skills necessary to conduct aviation-related mission planning/execution, including flight plans and fuel consumption calculations.
- Evaluate and, when necessary, redirect students using intellectual and personal skills.
- Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Work a flexible schedule.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum of seven years of experience as a navigator.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a C-130 Aircraft Navigator Instructor.
- Minimum of 2000 hours of flight time as a C-130 Navigator.
- Previous experience in curriculum development.
- Ability to hold credibility and the attention of the customer attendees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly express procedures, physical processes, and concepts to both domestic and international customers.
- Mathematical skills necessary to conduct aviation-related flight plans and fuel consumption calculations.
- Sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and, where necessary, redirect attendees.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Candidate must be able to provide US military or civil airline records of prior flight and/or simulator time.
- Incumbent must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Night vision goggle (NVG) experience.
- Airdrop experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Work Environment:
This job operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments, utilizing standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel internationally for extended assignments.
- Ability to stand and conduct academic instruction for up to eight hours each day.
- Ability to hear and tolerate simulation vibration and acoustic environment.
- Ability to climb stairs to enter and exit the simulator.
- Ability to sit in a standard instructional aircraft chair and reach controls as necessary.
