Aviation Instructor – C-130/L-382 Aircraft
CAE, a global leader in defense and security and civil aviation training, seeks a highly experienced and skilled Aviation Instructor to deliver comprehensive training on legacy and advanced avionics for C-130/L-382 aircraft. Role Summary:
The Aviation Instructor will plan, organize, and deliver instruction in simulator, classroom, and practical environments. Instruction will encompass flight and performance manual subjects, flight rules, crew resource management (CRM), and night vision imaging systems (NVIS). A primary focus will be ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained throughout all training activities. The Instructor will also be responsible for curriculum development, syllabus creation, lesson planning, courseware development, and the generation of post-training evaluation reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver C-130/L-382 instruction across diverse training mediums.
- Provide expert instruction in flight rules, CRM, and NVIS.
- Prioritize safety in all training activities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and courseware.
- Generate detailed and accurate post-training evaluation reports.
- Direct, coordinate, and lead all aircrew activities during simulator training sessions.
- Operate the simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) proficiently.
- Maintain current knowledge through ongoing training and self-study.
- Command the attention and respect of trainees, fostering a productive learning environment.
- Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying complex information to domestic and international clientele.
- Demonstrate proficiency in aviation-related calculations, including flight planning, fuel consumption, and performance estimations.
- Assess trainee performance, providing constructive feedback and redirection as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet training demands.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum seven years' experience as a pilot, with three years specifically as a C-130/L-382 Aircraft Pilot Instructor.
- Minimum 2500 flight hours as a C-130/L-382 Pilot.
- Minimum four-year college degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical procedures to diverse audiences.
- Strong mathematical skills for aviation-related calculations.
- Proven ability to assess, provide feedback, and guide trainees.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Flexibility to adapt to a varied work schedule.
Preferred Skills:
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.
- Airdrop experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Candidates must be able to provide verifiable US military or civil airline records of flight and/or simulator experience.
- Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments. The role may require extended foreign travel assignments. Physical demands include the ability to conduct instruction for up to eight hours daily, tolerate simulator environments, navigate stairs, and perform various physical tasks associated with simulator operation and classroom instruction.
