AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot
CAE USA Inc. seeks a highly skilled and experienced AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot to deliver advanced flight instruction at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This pivotal role involves training both U.S. Army and multinational students in a dynamic, demanding environment. The successful candidate will possess exceptional flight and instructional capabilities, coupled with a strong commitment to safety and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive flight instruction encompassing advanced flight tasks, navigation, terrain flight techniques, tactics, techniques and procedures, and instrument training across various flight modes (contact, instrument, weapons gunnery, night systems under day/night/NVG).
- Conduct classroom, in-flight, and simulator training, providing thorough performance evaluations to students.
- Prepare and deliver pre-flight and in-flight briefings, followed by comprehensive post-flight After Action Reviews.
- Administer end-of-stage check rides.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Graduation from the U.S. Army AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot and Methods of Instruction course.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an aviator, with recent AH-64D/E flight experience within the past 12 months (currency or refresher training may be provided).
- Minimum 1000 hours of AH-64D/E pilot time.
- Minimum 250 hours of AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot time.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer literacy, including word processing, database input, access to electronic publications and software, and use of electronic forms.
- Ability to support periodic travel.
- Familiarity with military flight training base operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability for overtime and varied shifts.
- Current FAA second-class Medical Certificate (or Army Class 2 Flight Duty Medical Exam (FDME) for National Guard/Reserve members).
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex aviation documents and diagrams.
- Proficiency in calculating figures, amounts, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; skilled in interpreting student communication (verbal, non-verbal, written).
Security Clearance:
Eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance is mandatory. The candidate will be responsible for adhering to all company security and data protection policies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The position requires working in a regular office environment and an aviation facility. The work environment may involve exposure to extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noises, electrical shock hazards, and physical demands including walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling. Domestic travel is required. The ability to distinguish colors is essential.
