Role and Responsibilities
Provides T-6B aircraft systems/operational procedures instruction; classroom and simulator aviation instruction and/or practical environments training. The Contract Instructor will work directly for the Site Manager and will be responsible for student pilot training in the associated training devices supporting the CNATRA CIS Program. Can assist as a Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required. May provide additional services such as courseware review and other additional administrative and/or collateral duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, scheduling, and other duties as maybe assigned by the Program or Site Manager. The Instructor will ensure a safe and secure work environment is maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Conduct scheduled CI led/supported training for Training Device and Systems Training (including briefs and debriefs) using traditional and modern tools such as computers, video projectors, overhead projectors and other multimedia systems.
+ Evaluate student performance during training as required. Debrief students using full replay/debrief capabilities of the device utilized for the training event. Complete and submit electronic grade sheet(s) in the approved CNATRA Training or Learning Management System (T/LMS) during the student debrief. If this is not possible due to a technical issue, the CI shall immediately report the issue to the SM/ASM and fill out a paper grade sheet. The electronic record shall be completed as soon as possible. For prolonged outages, the SM and the GTO shall develop a corrective action plan.
+ Evaluate and record trainer performance and/or deficiency in accordance with (IAW) established criteria.
+ Maintain, assess, and recommend improvements to training scenarios for effectiveness and currency.
+ Review curriculum; assess and recommend improvements to the training curriculum via the appropriate Site Training Officer or Stage Manager.
+ Provide classroom instruction and make recommendations for improvement to instructional media, to include tests and test materials, lesson plans, interactive courseware, flight training instructions and other guides under the guidelines of current directives.
+ Conduct training and instruction on device operation for personnel as needed, to include instruction on briefing, debriefing, grading and assessments.
+ Provide academic instruction, to include instructor led lecture discussion for Crew Resource Management (CRM), Instrument Ground School (IGS), etc., and self-paced Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Computer Based Training (CBT) in support of curricula required for each platform.
+ Assist with training device inspections and certification programs as well as other special projects as required. This includes mishap re-creation and simulator device testing.
+ Other weapons system specific support responsibilities, as listed in contract appendices.
+ Answer questions and assist the students with the content of the ICW, the functionality of the lessons, or the student management system.
+ Ensures the content of instruction provided is appropriate to all current and implemented instructional materials and CNATRA Instructions/Notices.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
+ Must have a bachelor’s degree.
+ Be a former or reserve military aviator.
+ Have logged a minimum of 1500 flying hours.
+ Must successfully complete the T-6B NATOPS open book, closed book, and boldface exams.
+ Must understand T-6B mission, crew procedures, appropriate Ground, Contact, Basic Instrument and Radio Instrument Precision Acrobatics, and Form Flight Training Instructions.
+ Maintaining currency of qualifications that includes, but not limited to taking an annual standardization exam for each stage of simulator instruction.
+ Contractor personnel shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
+ Previous T-6B Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified pilot or has been a T-6B simulator instructor within the preceding five (5) years.
+ At least one deployed fleet tour and T-6B flight experience.
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
+ Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
+ This job operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
+ Work in a complex military training environment; communicate and maintain/submit required actions and reports by company, government and personal computer devices, plus current telephone and fax devices.
+ Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock and from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.
+ Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
+ Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in simulator and classrooms.
+ Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
+ Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery.
+ Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
