CAE is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instructor Pilot to join its elite team. This individual will be responsible for delivering flight training in both flight simulators and ground school settings. The Instructor Pilot will adhere to all relevant regulatory agency guidelines, CAE approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements, acting as a subject matter expert guiding clients through their training programs. After approximately 1.5 years, and based on business needs, designated Instructors will be expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.
The role encompasses providing simulator/flight and classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types, crucial for issuing licenses, type ratings, internal training certificates, and pilot qualifications. The Instructor Pilot will conduct thorough pre and post-flight simulator briefings in a professional manner, adhering to CAE standards. Additionally, they will handle administrative tasks, such as completing training records, recommending remedial training, and maintaining personal instructional qualifications. Subject matter expertise will be utilized to contribute to curriculum and courseware creation when required.
Candidates should ideally possess an associate or bachelor's degree, though a high school diploma or state-issued equivalent is required. A minimum of 2-5 years of job-relevant experience is necessary, with previous teaching or training experience preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a customer service-oriented approach. Authorization to live and work in the United States, along with basic computer proficiency, is mandatory. They must also be able to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program. An existing instructor qualification or type rating is preferred, and a professional pilot's license is required. Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135 experience, 3,000 hours of total flight time, an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, and at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
This position requires the physical dexterity for tasks demanding hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours, stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours), and engage in activities like sitting, stooping, climbing, and twisting is also essential.
