Role Summary
CAE is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I to enrich its B737 NG training team in Dallas. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, high-quality training primarily within state-of-the-art flight simulators and other advanced training devices. Additionally, instructors will provide essential ground school instruction when required, ensuring all training meticulously adheres to appropriate regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Simulator Flight Instructor I will be entrusted with a diverse range of critical duties, including but not limited to:
- Delivering instructor-led Part 142 training and ATP/CTP courses, encompassing both ground school and simulator sessions, specifically on the B737 NG platform.
- Conducting thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings in strict accordance with CAE standards.
- Executing each simulator session with precision, adhering to CAE, aircraft manufacturer, or customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Providing expert simulator flight instruction for the issuance of various licenses, type ratings, and certificates.
- Accurately and comprehensively completing client training records to ensure clear understanding and seamless handovers between instructors.
- Recommending and implementing remedial training for clients who require additional support to meet the stipulated training progress.
- Recording simulator usage and documenting discrepancies diligently using established procedures.
- Monitoring and tracking the validity of personal instructional qualifications to ensure continuous compliance with contractual commitments.
- Serving as a subject matter expert in the development of curricula and courseware when required.
- Accepting training for examiner responsibilities as directed by the Head of Training.
- Acting as an invigilator during examinations to ensure integrity and compliance.
Qualifications
- Current type rating on the B737 NG platform.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience within an FAA Part 121 program.
- Ability to work night shifts as dictated by simulator availability.
- Bachelor's degree in a job-related field or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in aviation instruction.
- Successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL) written examinations.
- Possession of the minimum experience required by the relevant Regulatory Authority for an instructor rating.
- Demonstrated ability to meet all minimum qualification and experience requirements for designation as a Simulator Instructor.
- Current or previous holder of a professional pilot's license.
- A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant aviation regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain a strong customer-centric approach, even under challenging circumstances.
- A robust commitment to quality, coupled with a continuous drive for process improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Capacity to concentrate effectively and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to readily accept and adjust to changes in procedures or operational requirements.
- Fluency in English.
- Hold an existing instructor qualification or rating issued by a Regulatory Authority.
