737 Instructor Pilot (Part-Time) - 18214

AAR is seeking a highly experienced and professional Instructor Pilot with a Boeing 737NG type rating to join the flight operations team. This part-time role requires availability for ten flying days per month, with approximately four hours of flight time scheduled per assigned day. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional observational skills, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to aviation safety, ensuring the efficient operation of flights in strict accordance with company policies and aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to customers regarding the operation of the Boeing 737NG.
  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on Boeing 737NG aircraft as required.
  • Conduct pre-flight planning, including weather assessment, fuel requirements, weight and balance calculations, and route analysis.
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA and Public Use Aircraft regulations.
  • Coordinate flight operations with ground crew, air traffic control, and dispatch for timely departures and arrivals.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight aircraft inspections to verify airworthiness.
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols, including irregular and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain currency in company aircraft and comply with all flight department policies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Boeing 737NG type rating.
  • Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multiengine rating (Former military pilots may possess a Commercial Pilot certificate with an instrument rating and an FAA-issued B-737 type rating).
  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Multi-Engine Instructor Certificate (MEI), and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).
  • Minimum 2,500 hours total pilot time (1,500 hours for qualifying former military pilots operating multiengine aircraft).
  • Specific flight experience requirements: 250 hours night time; 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time (minimum 50 hours in actual flight).
  • Minimum 500 hours of turbojet experience, including 100 hours of turbojet flight time in the past 12 calendar months (50 hours of which must be in a turbojet aircraft or level C/D simulator).
  • 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command time in jet aircraft acquired within the preceding three years.
  • 300 hours Pilot-in-Command time on the B-737NG.
  • 350 hours turbine engine instructor or check pilot time.
  • Valid Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience as a United States Military Instructor Pilot.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including some weekends and overnight flights (all flights are CONUS).
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including operational equipment and flight bags.
  • Required strength and dexterity to operate aircraft controls, doors, and emergency systems.
  • Visual acuity (correctable to 20/20) and hearing capabilities per FAA standards.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during flight operations.
