The Opportunity

Boeing is seeking an exceptional and experienced Global Engagement Pilot to be strategically based in Haneda/Narita, Japan. This pivotal, high-visibility role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate extensively with professionals across the aviation industry, making a profound impact on the safety and operational effectiveness of Boeing flight operations and those of its global customers.

The Global Engagement Pilot will engage directly with a diverse range of stakeholders, including pilots, airline managers, regulatory authorities, senior executives, peers, supporting team personnel, and Subject Matter Experts. As an integral member of the Pilot Services Team, this role is responsible for extensive customer engagement, with the primary objective of enhancing flight operations safety and optimizing the utilization of Boeing products. The position also entails acting as a key representative of The Boeing Company for industry and regulatory interactions. Occasional opportunities will arise for the Global Engagement Pilot to serve as Pilot-in-Command on flights and to deploy to customer sites in an instructor capacity.

Position Responsibilities

The Global Engagement Pilot's responsibilities are comprehensive and include, but are not limited to:

• Proactively consulting and engaging with airline operators, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders to develop, deliver, and promote aviation safety and industry best practices, maintaining an essential onsite presence.
• Providing expert onsite technical advice and demonstrations to customers concerning aircraft operational and technical features, delivering specialized airplane flight services, devising innovative solutions for enhanced flight safety, and offering comprehensive operational consulting.
• Conducting meticulous reviews and observations of customer flight operations, subsequently preparing and presenting detailed Safety and Standardization reports.
• Advising on optimal pilot instruction philosophies and approaches for standardizing training and operational materials, fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Operating aircraft and performing all requisite aircrew duties, encompassing thorough preparations for and the safe conduct of flight operations, while rigorously applying Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles.

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates must meet the following stringent qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in presenting effectively to all levels of management.
• A current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or EASA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), or a verifiable international equivalent.
• A current FAA or EASA First Class Medical certificate, or an international equivalent.
• A minimum of 5,000 hours of total flight time in a public transport category aircraft.
• A minimum of 1,000 hours of documented flight instructor time.
• A current and valid type rating for the B737, B777, or B787 aircraft.
• Extensive experience as an FAA Part 121 Airline Instructor Pilot and/or Line Check Airman, or an equivalent international designation.
• Possession of a valid passport or the ability to obtain one, with a proven capability for both domestic and international travel.
• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 50% of the time, including international and transoceanic assignments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Fluent communication skills in both written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Prior management or leadership experience within an aviation context.
• Fluent communication skills in both written and verbal Japanese.

Travel, Relocation, and Visa Sponsorship

This position requires significant international and transoceanic travel, approximately 50% of the time. Relocation assistance may be a negotiable benefit for eligible candidates, applicable for one-way relocation. Boeing is prepared to sponsor qualified applicants for employment visa status for this international, locally hired position based in Japan.
