The Opportunity: Global Engagement Pilot

Boeing Canada is seeking an accomplished Global Engagement Pilot to join its team in Calgary, Alberta. This high-visibility, hybrid position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact aviation safety and enhance flight operations for Boeing and its customers worldwide. The successful candidate will engage with a diverse array of professionals, including pilots, managers, regulatory authorities, executives, and Subject Matter Experts, serving as a pivotal representative of The Boeing Company in industry and regulatory forums.

The Pilot Services Team is dedicated to extensive customer engagement aimed at bolstering flight operations safety and optimizing the use of Boeing products. The role will involve occasional opportunities to serve as Pilot-in-Command on flights and to deploy to customer sites in an instructor capacity. This position requires approximately 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities

A Global Engagement Pilot is expected to:

  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships and partnerships with key industry stakeholders, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, peers, and partners.
  • Acquire necessary resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead continuous process improvements.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and establish operational goals.
  • Perform and manage activities related to the development and delivery of familiarization, qualification, standardization, flight, and ground instruction for both company and customer aircrew.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of crew resource management in the operation of aircraft.
  • Manage, mentor, develop, and evaluate pilots performing aircrew duties, including oversight of activities to prepare for and conduct safe flight operations.
  • Operate Boeing and customer aircraft as Pilot-in-Command and Instructor.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, EASA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), or an international equivalent.
  • Current FAA or EASA First Class Medical certificate, or an international equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5,000 hours total flight time in public transport category aircraft.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of flight instructor time.
  • Must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting to all levels of management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current Boeing B737, B787, or B777 type rating.
  • Experience as an FAA Part 121 Airline Instructor Pilot and/or Line Check Airman, or an international equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid passport or the ability to obtain one for domestic and international travel.
  • Extensive international and transoceanic flight experience.

  • This is a locally hired position in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canadian standards and are not based on Boeing US payroll.
