Job Overview: First Officer / Co-Pilot

Amentum is seeking a professional and safety-conscious First Officer/Co-Pilot to join the aviation team in Las Vegas, NV. The selected candidate will serve as the Second in Command (SIC) of B737-600NG aircraft, responsible for the safe transport of passengers and cargo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pilot in Command (PIC) and assume command responsibilities if the PIC becomes incapacitated.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers, crew, cargo, and the aircraft at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) directives.
  • Operate aircraft controls as Pilot Flying (PF) or execute duties as Pilot Monitoring (PM) during flight operations.
  • Perform comprehensive pre-flight reviews, including maintenance logs, route planning, weather reports, NOTAMs, and pilot information files.
  • Maintain proficiency in FARs, AIM, FCOM, FCTM, QRH, SPM, and FOM documentation.
  • Calculate aircraft weight and balance, as well as takeoff and landing performance data.
  • Support the company safety culture, participate in emergency response training, and adhere to all Quality Management policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Valid US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with B737 Type rating (no restrictions).
  • Medical: Current US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate (EKG required for applicants over 39).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1,500 total in-seat flight hours in fixed-wing powered aircraft.
  • Compliance: Must adhere to all US DOT 14 CFR requirements (Parts 60, 61, 67, 117, 120, and 121), including age 65 limits as amended by the customer.
  • Security: Active US DOD TS/SCI security clearance. Candidates must be US citizens and maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid US state-issued Driver’s License and current US DHS/TSA LAS airport badge.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role is primarily based in the cockpit of a jet aircraft, characterized by confined space, high noise levels, varying temperatures, and low humidity. Duties involve sedentary work with requirements for physical flexibility (bending, stretching, climbing) and the ability to manipulate controls from a seated position. Pilots may face mental and physical stress due to inclement weather, in-flight emergencies, and sustained sensory input.
