About the Role: BARK Air Flight Concierge

BARK Air is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Flight Concierge to elevate the travel experience for its esteemed two-legged and four-legged passengers. This unique aviation role is an extraordinary blend of premium hospitality and expert canine welfare, focusing on ensuring absolute comfort, safety, and delight for dogs and their human companions throughout their journey. The Flight Concierge will be instrumental in delivering BARK Air's "dogs first" philosophy, acting as the primary in-person representative for an unparalleled luxury pet travel service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Canine Welfare and Behavioral Management: The Flight Concierge will serve as an expert in dog behavior, adeptly managing group dynamics within limited spaces to maintain a safe and harmonious environment for all passengers. This includes providing attentive in-air care and conducting pup consultations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Exceptional Passenger Service: This individual will deliver legendary customer service to both canine and human passengers, establishing positive relationships with a friendly demeanor and cooperative spirit. They will provide comprehensive assistance, including baggage handling, and anticipate needs to ensure a delightfully memorable journey for all.
  • Operational Excellence and Journey Management: The Flight Concierge will orchestrate a seamless travel experience from check-in to luggage collection. This encompasses providing expert assistance curbside, within the lounge, and during flight, ensuring every aspect of the BARK Air voyage is managed with precision and ease.
  • Adaptable Problem-Solving: This role requires the ability to skillfully manage unforeseen circumstances, such as flight delays, lost items, or unexpected canine "zoomies," with grace and agility. The Flight Concierge will proactively address challenges to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience, upholding BARK Air's commitment to exceptional care.
  • BARK Air Ambassador: The successful candidate will act as a knowledgeable resource for passengers, providing up-to-date information on flight details, dog-friendly destinations, and BARK Air offerings, enthusiastically sharing insights to enhance the travel experience.
  • Dynamic Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility and a proactive willingness to assist with varying duties based on passenger needs and evolving business requirements is a must.

Required Qualifications:

  • A profound love for dogs and a commitment to their welfare and comfort.
  • Demonstrated understanding and strong recognition of dog behaviors, with the ability to confidently manage dogs in group settings and address potential conflicts. (Alternatively, 2+ years of veterinary technician experience is acceptable.)
  • 2-5 years of in-person hospitality or customer service experience, ideally within a premium service environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, crucial for professional interaction with passengers, partners, and team members.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and applications, including Google Suite, Slack, Expensify, Navan, and WhatsApp.
  • Acute attention to detail for pre-flight preparations, passenger preference tracking, and comprehensive debriefings.
  • Ability to operate independently as the primary BARK Air representative for passengers while effectively collaborating with the charter partner’s crew.
  • Successful completion of the BARK Air Concierge training program, demonstrating readiness to manage diverse travel scenarios.
  • A valid government-issued passport for international travel.
  • Adherence to BARK Air's uniform and professional appearance standards.
  • Physical Demands:

    • Ability to regularly lift and/or relocate objects weighing up to 60 pounds, assisting with mobility-challenged pups or passenger luggage.
    • Capability to climb, bend, kneel, and stand frequently and for extended durations, including working efficiently within limited spaces and under tight time constraints.
    • Retention of ability to wear designated uniforms for the duration of shifts.
    • Availability to travel domestically and internationally on 4-10 flights per month, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in aviation or luxury travel services is a plus, though not required as flight attendant qualifications are not necessary for this role.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $25 to $40, commensurate with experience.
  • All meals and overnight hotel accommodations are covered during travel.
