Responsibilities

Safety and Security

  • Ensure the utmost safety, security, welfare, and comfort of all passengers and fellow crewmembers.
  • Respond with expertise and effectiveness to a wide spectrum of in-flight emergencies.
  • Contribute to the seamless and efficient execution of all aircraft operations and flight schedules.
  • Complete all required incident and safety reporting, ensuring timely documentation submission.

In-Flight Standards and Customer Experience

  • Cultivate a caring and memorable customer experience throughout each flight, from boarding to deplaning, serving as a brand ambassador for Avelo.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for passenger concerns onboard, developing innovative and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations, complying with laws, regulations, and procedures in all operational locations.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all required training, maintaining qualifications as stipulated by Inflight Leadership.
  • Sustain a thorough understanding of all relevant company materials, including the Inflight Service Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, and OneCrew Way Handbook. Stay current with all revisions and bulletins, ensuring the Flight Attendant tablet is updated and accurate.

Customer and Crew Leadership

  • Foster customer loyalty and embody the "One Crew" value by collaborating effectively with all operational crewmembers and Avelo leadership.
  • Treat each passenger as an individual, demonstrating kindness and respect.
  • Contribute to Avelo's onboard service, sales, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Serve as a customer service, marketing, and public relations ambassador for the airline.

Requirements

Candidates are advised to review the following requirements thoroughly. Preference is given to individuals residing in or near their assigned base, as the current scheduled service comprises local day trips without overnights, making commuting challenging. Applicants must be able to report to the airport within two hours. However, it is important to note that operational needs may require flight assignments (e.g., Charter Flights, Reserve Assignments) out of base for multiple days.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and the ability to report to the assigned location within two hours.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all Avelo Flight Attendant training requirements.
  • Must be able to accept and relocate to a base assignment at the crewmember's own expense following training.
  • Must be able to work a rotating schedule with variable hours, including duty days up to 16 hours, and work nights, weekends, holidays, and multiple days away from home.
  • Must present a neat, professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to Avelo's Inflight uniform and appearance guidelines.
  • Must comply with all DOT, FAA, and Avelo Airlines' regulations regarding drug and alcohol compliance for safety-sensitive transportation employees.
  • Must be willing and able to serve all types of food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
  • Must maintain a current and working telephone number for contact and keep the company informed of their residential address, ensuring its currency at all times.
  • Must possess a valid United States passport (or a foreign passport with applicable VISAs) prior to application, with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • Must have the unrestricted right to travel freely into and out of the United States, and to and from all cities served by Avelo Airlines (including Canada).
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must be capable of performing all duties and responsibilities outlined in the Avelo Inflight Services Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, Company safety manuals, and any duties assigned by the flight Captain or Avelo leadership.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision must be at least 20/40 with corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses).
  • Ability to physically lift 50 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Capacity to walk forward down the aircraft aisle without impeding the comfort of seated passengers.
  • Ability to be seated in a jumpseat with all belts and restraints fastened, without the use of a seatbelt extension.
  • Maintain balance while walking and standing during flight.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Capability to push or pull aircraft doors/exits, or food/beverage carts with a force of up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to assist passengers requiring assistance during an evacuation.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $28.00 per hour.
  • Monthly Guarantee: 75-hour minimum.
  • Lead Pay: $2.00 override when serving in the lead position.
  • Per Diem: $2.25 per hour while on duty at the airport or flying.
  • Premium Pay: Applicable premiums will be paid as designated.
  • Holiday Pay: Applicable for company-identified holidays.

Other responsibilities may be assigned. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on circumstances, including emergencies and variations in workload.
