Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety and comfort of all passengers by adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company procedures.
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations with leadership, composure, and expertise.
- Maintains high standards of dependability and professionalism to ensure punctual departures and seamless flight operations.
- Demonstrates adaptability and resilience in handling demanding schedules and dynamic environments.
- Upholds company policies, procedures, and performance standards, including strict adherence to uniform and appearance guidelines.
- Works independently while functioning as a collaborative and reliable member of the flight crew.
- Delivers exceptional in-flight service, including serving meals and beverages and facilitating onboard product sales.
- Manages a diverse range of customer interactions with professionalism and care, both on and off the aircraft.
- Operates effectively in varied global environments, including diverse climates and time zones.
Qualifications for Success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience in industries such as retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, or social services.
- Height and weight must be conducive to safe aircraft operation, including the ability to sit in a jump seat with a fastened harness without modifications and navigate the cabin aisle and operate emergency exits.
- Must possess a valid U.S. or foreign passport with applicable visas, valid through at least December 31, 2026. Candidates with foreign passports must also have all necessary and valid documentation to legally work and travel as a Flight Attendant within the U.S. and internationally.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States and the ability to travel unrestricted to/from all states and countries served by American Airlines.
- Must be willing to relocate based on the company’s operational needs.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
- Must be able to report for on-call (reserve) duty at the assigned base, with reserve duty potentially continuing for an undetermined duration.
- Must be able to professionally represent the American Airlines brand while in uniform, with no visible tattoos, no more than one earring per ear, and no facial piercings.
