Key Responsibilities
Flight Attendant Trainees will undergo a comprehensive, six-week unpaid training program designed to certify them as safety professionals, service experts, and trusted brand ambassadors. Upon certification, responsibilities include:

Ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers by adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company procedures.

Responding to a wide range of emergency and non-emergency situations with composure and leadership.

Maintaining high standards of dependability and professionalism to support on-time departures and seamless operations.

Demonstrating adaptability and resilience in managing demanding hours, irregular schedules, and dynamic environments.

Upholding company policies, procedures, and performance standards, including appearance and uniform guidelines.

Operating effectively independently while also contributing as a collaborative and dependable member of the flight crew.

Delivering exceptional in-flight service, including the provision of meals, beverages, and onboard product sales.

Qualifications for Success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of customer service experience in fields such as retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, or social services.
- Height and weight must permit safe aircraft operation, including the ability to sit in a jump seat with a fastened harness and navigate the cabin aisle and operate emergency exits.
- Must possess a valid U.S. or foreign passport with applicable visas, valid through at least December 31, 2026. Candidates with foreign passports must also have all necessary documentation for legal work and travel within the U.S. and internationally.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be able to travel unrestricted to all states and countries served by American Airlines.
- Willingness to relocate based on operational needs.
- Potential base locations include Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), Washington D.C. (DCA), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), New York LaGuardia (LGA), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Philadelphia (PHL), or Phoenix (PHX).
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
- Willingness to report for on-call (reserve) duty at the assigned base, which may continue for an undetermined period.
- Ability to professionally represent the American Airlines brand while in uniform, adhering to specific appearance standards: no visible tattoos, a maximum of one earring per ear, and no facial piercings.
