- Must be at least 20 years of age at the time of application.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of relevant customer service experience is necessary, gained in demanding industries such as retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, or social services.
- Height and weight must permit safe aircraft operation, including the ability to:
- Sit securely in a jump seat and fasten the safety harness without modifications or extenders.
- Navigate freely throughout the cabin aisle and operate emergency exits effectively.
- Must possess a valid U.S. or foreign passport with all necessary visas, valid through at least December 31, 2026.
- Candidates holding a foreign passport must possess all necessary and valid documentation (e.g., work authorization, visas, permanent resident card) to legally work and travel as a Flight Attendant within the U.S. and internationally. The responsibility for obtaining required visas lies with the candidate.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States and the ability to travel unrestricted to/from all domestic and international destinations served by American Airlines.
- Willingness to relocate based strictly on the company’s operational needs. Potential base locations include: BOS, CLT, DCA, DFW, LGA, LAX, MIA, ORD, PHL, or PHX.
- Required availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as necessary.
- Must be available for on-call (reserve) duty at the assigned base. Reserve duty may continue for an undetermined number of years.
- Must professionally represent the American Airlines brand while in the Flight Attendant uniform, adhering to strict appearance guidelines:
- No visible tattoos.
- No more than one (1) earring per ear.
- No facial piercings.
