Key Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant Trainee will undergo a comprehensive, unpaid six-week training program designed to certify them as safety professionals, service experts, and brand ambassadors. Upon certification, responsibilities include:

Ensuring the safety and comfort of all customers by strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company procedures.

Demonstrating leadership and composure in managing various emergency and non-emergency situations effectively.

Maintaining high standards of dependability and professionalism to facilitate on-time departures and seamless airline operations.

Exhibiting adaptability and resilience in handling extended hours and irregular schedules within a dynamic operational environment.

Qualifications for Success
Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 20 years of age.

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

A minimum of two years of customer service experience in sectors such as retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, or social services.

Height and weight must be conducive to safe aircraft operation, including the ability to:

Sit in a jump seat and securely fasten the harness without modifications or extenders.

Move freely throughout the cabin aisle and operate emergency exits.

Possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport with all applicable visas, valid through at least December 31, 2026. Candidates with foreign passports must also possess all necessary documentation for legal work and travel within the U.S. and internationally.

Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be able to travel unrestricted to all destinations served by American Airlines.

Willingness to relocate based on the operational needs of the company.

Potential base locations include Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), Washington D.C. (DCA), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), New York (LGA), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Chicago (ORD), Philadelphia (PHL), or Phoenix (PHX).

Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.

Ability to report for on-call (reserve) duty at the assigned base; reserve duty may extend for an indeterminate period.
