Position Overview
American Airlines invites dedicated and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Supervisor, Crew Scheduling - Flight Attendants. This role is a key member of the Crew Scheduling Team within the Integrated Operations Division, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the world's largest airline.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily operational requirements, overseeing the scheduling and reassignment of flight attendant crew members, and leading a team of FA Crew Schedulers. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and guide a team of Crew Schedulers, conducting ongoing performance conversations to foster continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the coverage of open flight sequences for each crew base, ensuring strict adherence to the provisions of the JCBA contractual labor agreement and FAR 121 limitations.
- Assist the Manager on Duty with daily operational demands, strategically allocating open time resulting from weather, irregular operations, or equipment substitutions in a cost-effective and expeditious manner.
- Coach, counsel, and recognize team members to motivate and enhance individual and team performance.
- Lead extensive research for grievances and pay claims, ensuring fair and accurate resolution.
- Participate in the development and revision of contractual materials and presentations.
- Attend crew system meetings, providing critical feedback and direction on behalf of Flight Attendant Scheduling.
- Engage in regular meetings with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) and Labor Relations.
- Maintain and provide coverage report updates and assist senior management with special assignments as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7/365 operation, with overtime as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- A minimum of three years of relevant, job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in Crew Scheduling.
- Prior experience working with a contract labor group and in-depth knowledge of the Flight Attendant JCBA.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities, based on thorough information analysis.
- Proven flexibility and adaptability to constant change.
- Strong cognitive skills to read, understand, and apply complex information, including the JCBA labor agreement.
- Ability to prepare and deliver clear written and verbal presentations.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments concurrently, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and report to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Adept at understanding the 24-hour clock and worldwide time zones.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to coordinate and delegate work assignments effectively.
