Hawaiian Airlines invites applications for the position of Korean Language Qualified Flight Attendant. Selected candidates will participate in a recruitment event held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Specific interview dates and times will be communicated to candidates chosen for the interview process.

Position Summary
The primary function of a Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendant is to ensure guest safety aboard Company aircraft. This requires the ability to perform safety procedures and assist guests during emergencies. Flight Attendants operate in a dynamic environment, managing emergency situations and interacting effectively and pleasantly with diverse personalities.
Secondly, Flight Attendants provide consistent and prescribed customer service within the aircraft cabin. This includes offering food and beverage service and delivering an exceptional Aloha experience.
Key Responsibilities
A Flight Attendant's duties include:
- Attending preflight briefings covering weather, altitudes, routes, emergency procedures, crew coordination, flight durations, food and beverage services, and guest count.
- Greeting guests pleasantly and directing them to their assigned seats, answering flight-related questions.
- Assisting guests with stowing carry-on luggage in overhead compartments or under seats.
- Demonstrating the use of safety equipment (seat belts, oxygen masks, life jackets) and emergency procedures before takeoff.
- Monitoring aisles to ensure guest observation of safety regulations, advising guests of infractions, and effectively de-escalating and resolving difficult guest situations.
- Directing and assisting guests during emergency procedures, such as aircraft evacuation.
- Providing food and beverage service consistently according to procedure.
- Collecting and reconciling payments for onboard products (alcoholic beverages, meals, duty-free items, etc.).
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Creating written and verbal reports of emergency/safety incidents during flight.
- Preparing guests and aircraft for landing in accordance with procedures.
- Successfully completing annual FAA-approved re-certification provided by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Obtaining and maintaining an Airport Operations Area (AOA) Badge.
- Learning and maintaining current knowledge and competency in emergency procedures as required by Hawaiian Airlines and FAA Regulations.
- Working alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Interacting effectively and professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Collaborating with colleagues to provide an exceptional aloha experience through prompt and pleasant responses to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints onboard.
- Identifying potential problems or situations that may go wrong, recognizing issues, and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Working in varying climates and locations globally, and adapting to variable shifts.
- Flying at high altitudes.
- Meeting the physical demands of the job.
- Assisting ill or incapacitated passengers and crew members.
- Evacuating the aircraft in environments with heavy, dense smoke during a cabin fire.
- Handling and operating oxygen bottles and fire extinguishers.
- Removing and lifting emergency cabin windows (weighing up to 60 pounds).
- Jumping down the emergency slide from a height of approximately 24.5 feet.
All listed job duties, including emergency responsibilities, are considered essential functions of the Flight Attendant role.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Present a professional image, with no visible body art (including tattoos), facial, multiple or upper ear piercings, gauge piercings, or extreme hair color or style while in the Flight Attendant Uniform or in public areas.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively de-escalate and resolve difficult customer situations.
- Be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Be proficient in speaking advanced/business level Korean and reading Korean characters (Hangul).
- Successfully complete an FAA-approved, unpaid eight-week intensive training program provided by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Be able to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
- Be available to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess the ability to reach 82 inches vertically.
- Be able to sit securely in a cabin crew jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including a Drug Test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and background check.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship. Hawaiian Airlines does not sponsor nonimmigrant or immigrant employment visas or status for this position.
- Possess a valid passport and be able to secure applicable visas for travel to countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Possess the legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Ensure travel documents remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment.
- Be aware that Flight Attendants work in an environment subject to varying climatic conditions, variable gravitational loads due to turbulence, and varying levels of cabin pressurization. They are required to stand for up to four to seventeen hours, potentially involving stooping, twisting, pulling, and pushing cabin equipment.
- Current employees must be in good standing with the company.
Please note: Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40). Post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing is conducted to detect Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive results will disqualify the applicant. In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines are required to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, documentation proving current country citizenship and birthplace must be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry, OR four years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution experience with the general public in sectors such as retail, education, health care, and/or professional services.
- College education or degree.
