Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest airline and a group company, presents an exciting opportunity for skilled aviation professionals. The airline is currently seeking experienced A320 Type-Rated Pilots to join its dynamic team on a fixed-term contract basis.

Opportunity Overview

This role involves operating assigned flights in strict adherence to the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The Captain is ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety, security, and efficiency throughout all operations. The position requires effective leadership, guiding flight and cabin crew, managing emergencies and unforeseen scenarios, and maintaining positive performance and corporate image. Collaboration and consultation with relevant departments such as the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, and Head of Flight Operations are essential for non-routine or critical actions, ensuring all duties comply with adopted policies and procedures.

Contract Specifications

  • Eligibility: Open exclusively to eligible foreign nationals.
  • Duration: A 15-month fixed period contract, renewable upon mutual agreement for further periods. The contract typically includes approximately 3 months of initial training followed by 12 months of flying duties.

Key Responsibilities

The A320 Captain is responsible for flying assigned aircraft according to schedules and approved flight plans, acting as the ultimate authority for the aircraft during assigned flights. Key duties include:

  • Conducting assigned flights in accordance with detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and applicable regulations.
  • Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining necessary procedures to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the aircraft at all times.
  • Ensuring timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legality of self and the flight crew for assigned duties.
  • Conducting thorough pre-flight briefings to ensure crew members are fully informed of flight details and continuously ensuring briefings are properly executed as per procedures.
  • Liaising effectively with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team before each flight, providing them with essential information including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel, weight, and distribution of roles.
  • Operating the aircraft to optimise fuel efficiency and effectiveness during flight, strictly within the safety constraints detailed in the Airline’s Operations Manual.
  • Ensuring required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are conducted by assigned flight and cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight. Taking necessary action, directing the crew on appropriate responses to safety or security irregularities, and escalating issues as required.

Required Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)

  • Possession of an appropriate ATPL License is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of technical/psychometric assessments for pilots in accordance with airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
  • Passing the Medical Fitness check-up for pilots as per airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
  • Essential training in safety and emergency response; a formal qualification is advantageous.
  • Training in basic airport, security procedures, and regulations is an advantage.
  • Crew Resources Management Training is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.

Required Work Experience

  • A minimum of 4000 hours of total flying time is required.
  • Requires a minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the Airbus 320 aircraft type.
  • Possesses acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
  • Capable of implementing policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrates cost-oriented thinking, effective problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exhibits high accuracy and strong attention to both results and detail.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Monthly Salary During Initial Training (Until Final Line Check): AED 20,199 (equivalent to approximately US$5,500) net per month (pro-rated for partial months) plus Per Diem.
  • Monthly Salary After Training / Final Line Check (Up to 60 Block Hours per Month): AED 27,544 (equivalent to approximately US$7,500) net per month plus Per Diem.
  • Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours per Month: Every block hour flown above 60 per month is compensated at AED 404 (equivalent to approximately US$110).
  • Per Diem: AED 184 (equivalent to approximately US$50) per day (averaging around US$1,500 per month) is provided for food and miscellaneous expenses.
  • Accommodation: Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis is provided at the base of operation and layover stations for the full contract duration, including personal laundry service (4 pieces per day).
  • Transportation: Suitable ground transportation is provided between accommodation and Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
  • Travel: The company arranges and pays for economy class tickets at the commencement and end of the contract, including up to 50kg baggage allowance. Unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network are available during the contract period. Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after completing 6 months of service.
  • Uniforms / Laundry: Uniforms and laundry service are provided for the contract duration.
  • Roster & Day Off: Entitlement to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service (accruing at 2.5 days per month). Paid vacation is granted upon successful completion of initial training and line flying release, coinciding with regular rostered flying duties. Paid vacation days are combined with rostered OFF days each month, ensuring a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
