Job Purpose
The Cabin Crew Examiner and Instructor is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive aviation training courses focused on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Cabin Crew personnel. This critical role ensures all training conforms to company-approved quality standards and adheres strictly to regulatory measures set by the relevant Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or ECAA. The Examiner promotes a culture of conformity, excellence in service delivery, and reinforces the corporate image and safety culture of the airline.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Examiner's core functions span instructional delivery, regulatory compliance, quality control, and operational support:
- Designs and delivers timely and highly effective training programs to Cabin Crew (CC) to satisfy operational requirements and maintain approved safety and quality standards, in accordance with the airline's Cabin Security Procedures Manual (CSPM) provisions. The role includes ensuring prompt corrective action is taken regarding any Cabin Crew performance deficiencies.
- Provides mandatory training, including Initial, Conversion/Differences, Recurrent, and Refresher courses, for both Cabin Crew and Pilots. The Examiner supervises performance progress and generates detailed management reports.
- Ensures training curricula are comprehensive, covering both theoretical and practical elements, including, but not limited to: Passenger Conduct, Fire-Fighting Protocols, Safety Procedures, utilization of Emergency and Catering Equipment, detailed Aircraft Layouts, and required Aircraft Visits.
- Instructs Cabin Crew on critical post-flight procedures, such as meticulous documentation completion, occurrence reporting, and effective handover/takeover processes, ensuring procedural integrity.
- Conducts specialized “Leadership” training courses and provides one-to-one coaching sessions specifically for Senior Cabin Crew, offering continuous professional guidance and support to foster high-performance results.
- Assists in the rigorous evaluation of Cabin Crew competency and operational readiness. This function includes maintaining accurate records of license renewal dates, ensuring mandatory recertification is completed prior to expiry, and managing all associated certificate records.
- Ensures the Cabin Security Procedures Manual (CSPM) is regularly updated, effectively communicated to all Cabin Crew, and fully integrated into training modules to guarantee adherence to regulations and procedures set by the CAA and other pertinent regulatory bodies.
- Drafts, checks, and approves the issuance of critical safety bulletins, ensuring Cabin Crew are advised, fully updated with content, and possess a complete understanding of all implications.
- Supports the training team during internal and external audit requirements and checks, ensuring the immediate availability, currency, and compliance of function-related documents, reports, attendance records, and training logs with approved standards.
- Contributes actively to the creation and regular updating of the question databank utilized in Cabin Crew selection examinations. Ensures the safety and readiness of all training facilities, equipment, tools, and manages the integrity of tests and results.
- Supports new employees through the Induction Program on the Learning Management System (LMS), provides necessary guidance, replies to content inquiries, and attends briefing sessions to evaluate Cabin Crew knowledge retention.
- Provides training delivery support to other operational hubs as required and conducts training courses for third parties in accordance with approved Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts when necessary.
- May operate as a Cabin Supervisor or carry out observational flights as a designated checker as and when dictated by scheduling requirements.
- Responsible for the continuous updating and refinement of both cabin safety and customer service training syllabi and programs.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
Academic, Training, and Language Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Education, or an equivalent Diploma is highly preferred.
- Possession of related professional training certificates such as “Train the Trainer,” “Instructive Training,” and “Professional Skills” is required.
- An appropriate corresponding license, specifically a Valid ECAA Cabin Crew Instructor and Cabin Crew Examiner License, is strongly preferable.
- Mandatory proficiency in managing Audio Visual equipment.
- Fluency in the English Language is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and Web Search functionality is required.
Professional Work Experience and Skills
- Candidates must be Active Designated Cabin Crew Examiners and/or Instructors with a minimum of four (4) years of experience within the aviation industry.
- Previous essential experience as a Cabin Crew Instructor and Examiner is required.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting comprehensive Airline Safety training.
- Thorough familiarity with ECAA rules and regulations pertaining to cabin services, licensing, and operational procedures.
- Proven experience in planning, designing, and delivering complex training courses, ideally for Cabin Crew.
- Possesses the ability to produce, interpret, assimilate complex data, and express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrates a balanced approach, employing technical expertise alongside excellent interpersonal relations to successfully execute new initiatives that support organizational objectives.
- Exhibits strong planning and time management skills, maintaining effectiveness even in challenging or high-pressure environments.
