First Officer / Pilot
The First Officer serves as a pivotal second-in-command, providing essential support to the Captain in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. This role is fundamental to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety, security, and operational excellence while contributing to the well-being of the crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment. The First Officer exemplifies integrity, leadership, and professionalism, making ethical and decisive contributions under the Captain's ultimate authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the Captain in maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe operation of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (including UAE GCAA and international standards), company policies, and industry standards.
- Performs delegated flight duties in accordance with company policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards, fostering professionalism and effective collaboration among the flight crew through strong leadership and Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles.
- Executes all operational duties with precision and professionalism, adhering strictly to the company's Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and policies to ensure compliance and operational integrity, while utilizing sound CRM to propose alternative actions when necessary.
- Diligently monitors aircraft systems, performance, and navigation, promptly addressing any irregularities and ensuring strict adherence to the flight plan. Identifies, documents, and reports safety incidents, SOP deviations, or operational irregularities, proactively highlighting opportunities for enhancing safety and efficiency. Ensures all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted through the appropriate regulatory and company channels.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to confirm the serviceability of emergency systems and flight deck equipment. Shares responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, crew, and operations from the commencement of boarding through shut down, overseeing activities such as fueling and loading, and immediately alerting the Captain to any irregularities.
- Assists the Captain with responsibilities for the crew from reporting for duty at the Base of Operations, acting in a supporting capacity at outstations and during layovers, and contributing to the safe and efficient management of return sector(s) until release following post-flight duties.
- Supports the Captain, who as the Aircraft Commander holds full accountability and responsibility for all operational decisions and the overall conduct of the flight, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Represents the airline as a brand ambassador by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and appearance while on duty and in public, and supports the Captain in ensuring the crew consistently upholds the company's corporate and brand image, reporting any inconsistencies through established mechanisms.
- Operates all flight duties in alignment with the airline's commercial objectives, expertly balancing operational efficiency with an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensures every decision made during flight operations supports the airline's mission while maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
- Stays comprehensively informed on the latest aviation legislation (including UAE GCAA), operational standards, and industry best practices, proactively integrating this knowledge to ensure full legal compliance, adherence to procedures, and alignment with evolving industry trends and standards.
- Reads and complies with the company's ISR (Information Security Risk) policies, diligently reporting any weaknesses or incidents to the designated Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in day-to-day business operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (Pilot in Command time preferred).
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA) flying time.
- Possession of an ICAO English Language Proficiency rating of Level 4 or above.
- Holds an unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate issued by an ICAO Compliant State.
- Holds an ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
