Flight Attendant

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize passenger safety and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Provide outstanding customer service, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and grace in all interactions.
- Resolve customer issues effectively, fostering loyalty and representing United Airlines with pride.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Be available for global assignments on a 24/7 basis, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.
- Operate electronic devices proficiently to complete required tasks.
- Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
- Effectively communicate in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, and severe weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English and Greek fluently.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in emergency situations.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Must be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation.
- Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history.
- Tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrists, legs, and feet, but cannot be larger than a credit card/employee badge or must be covered with standard uniform pieces. Tattoos cannot be on the head, hands, or neck, and must not be offensive.
- Decorative covers, adornments, and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
