Position Summary
Sun Country Airlines invites highly motivated and customer-centric individuals to apply for the position of Flight Attendant. This full-time, non-exempt role, based at the Minneapolis, MN (Crew Base), is essential to upholding the airline’s commitment to safety, security, and unparalleled customer service. Flight Attendants are key ambassadors, ensuring compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Sun Country Airlines policies while contributing to a positive and memorable travel experience for all passengers.

Compensation and work schedules are structured according to the collective bargaining agreement, ensuring fair and transparent terms of employment. Key Responsibilities
The essential roles and responsibilities of a Sun Country Airlines Flight Attendant include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the paramount safety, security, and comfort of all customers throughout the flight.
- Strictly adhering to all mandated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations and Sun Country Airlines policies.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight safety checks of the cabin and emergency equipment.
- Responding effectively and professionally during all emergency situations, including aircraft evacuations, in-flight fires, and other unusual circumstances.
- Managing onboard sales of liquor, food, and other amenities, while preparing and serving meals and beverages according to service standards.
- Administering first aid and responding to customer illness or injury with care and efficiency.
- Professionally diffusing situations with unruly or upset customers and maintaining order in the cabin environment.
- Performing all tasks safely and efficiently, complying with all local, state, federal, and internal safety and health regulatory requirements.
- Executing any other duties assigned by management to support seamless flight operations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity prior to the start of training, enabling unrestricted travel to and from the USA, Canada, and all destinations served by Sun Country Airlines.
- Ability to successfully pass all drug testing in compliance with FAA regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of direct customer service experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English clearly and fluently.
- Must be 20 years of age or older by the conclusion of initial training.
- Ability to reach 80 vertical inches without shoes to operate all necessary aircraft equipment and systems.
- Capability to kneel to operate aircraft door mechanisms and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an integral part of a team.
- Exceptional dependability and a strong work ethic.
- Capacity to remain calm and respond effectively to emergency situations, including turbulence, in-flight fires, bomb threats, and other unusual circumstances.
- Adept at managing emergencies and providing care for passengers under duress.
- Constant alertness and readiness to act decisively in emergency situations.
- Physical ability to endure repetitive variances in altitude and cabin pressure.
- Commitment to relocate to within two hours of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) when on "reserve" (on-call) status.
- Flexibility to be away from home for extended periods and work "reserve" status for prolonged durations.
- Ability to fully fit into Flight Attendant jump seats and secure the seat belt/shoulder harness assembly without modification.
- Sufficient vision to safely perform all essential functions of the position, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus.
- Adequate hearing acuity to effectively communicate with co-workers and passengers.
- Ability to meet the demands of a vigorous and varied work schedule.
- Possess the stamina appropriate to the duty requirements.
- Commitment to presenting a neat and professional appearance, strictly adhering to Sun Country Airlines uniform and appearance standards, which include specific limitations on visible tattoos and body piercings while in uniform.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Flight Attendant experience is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Details
- Hourly Rate: $26.78 USD per flight hour.
- Monthly Guarantee: 72.5 flight hours.
- Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt.
- Work Location: Minneapolis, MN (Crew Base).
- Supervisory Responsibility: None.
- Uniforms: Flight Attendants are responsible for purchasing their initial uniform and luggage (approximately $700-$1000). This cost may be payroll deducted once employed by the Company.
- Relocation: Relocation costs are the sole responsibility of the Flight Attendant.

Work Environment & Schedule
This role primarily operates within a pressurized aircraft for extended periods, involving exposure to varying noise levels and recycled air. The position requires extensive travel, necessitating consecutive nights away from home and adaptability to diverse climates. The employee will be required to open and close aircraft doors in both normal and emergency modes.
Sun Country Airlines operates 365 days a year. Flight Attendants will be assigned various shifts, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and "red-eye" hours. Shifts are bid monthly and awarded based on seniority. As a "reserve" (on-call) Flight Attendant, individuals must be available to report to the airport within two hours of notification for an assignment and will be scheduled with 11 days off per month. Line-holding Flight Attendants are scheduled with a minimum of 13 days off per month.

- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently push and pull carts weighing between 100-250 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Flight Attendant Training
The Flight Attendant Training Class is an intensive, approximately five-week program conducted onsite at Sun Country Airlines' state-of-the-art training facility in Minneapolis, MN. While travel and lodging accommodations during training are not provided by Sun Country Airlines, successful completion of the training is mandatory to become a Flight Attendant. This is an unpaid training class; however, a $1,000 learning stipend will be paid upon successful completion of the program.
