Flight Attendant
United is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of over 30,000 flight attendants. Role Overview
Successful candidates will complete 6.5 weeks of industry-leading initial training in Houston, TX. During this period, trainees receive a $140 weekly stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and two meals per day. Upon successful completion of training and base orientation, participants will be welcomed as full-time employees assigned to one of our seven hubs: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles.

Resolve customer concerns and manage various in-flight scenarios with judgment and grace.

Work independently and as part of a diverse crew in a 24/7 global operation.

Maintain flexibility for global assignments, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Operate electronic devices and perform physical tasks, including lifting luggage and maneuvering beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).

Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol.
Qualifications and Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.

High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of college preferred.

Minimum of one year of customer service experience in any service-related industry.

Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding). Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.

Possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport (in good condition) with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel globally without restrictions.

Must meet FAA and company hearing and vision requirements.

Ability to pass a 10-year criminal background check, fingerprinting, and DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screenings.

Must meet grooming and uniform standards; specific tattoo restrictions apply to the head, neck, hands, and fingers.

Must pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach).

Starting hourly flight pay of $37.10/hour, with a scale reaching $100.13/hour by 2030.
