Position Overview: Flight Attendant
United Airlines is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of over 30,000 flight attendants. Key Responsibilities

Maintain the highest levels of safety in all aircraft environments.

Operate within a 24/7 global schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Serve in reserve assignments on short notice and remain away from base for extended periods.

Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse crew.

Perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, lifting heavy objects, operating aircraft doors, and pushing beverage carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
Qualifications and Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.

High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.

Minimum of one year of experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, education, or aviation).

Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding). Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.

Valid passport in possession at time of application with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages.

Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel globally without restrictions.

Must meet physical reach requirements: 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous, without shoes).

Must meet FAA hearing and vision standards.

Professional grooming standards apply; visible tattoos must meet specific size/placement criteria and may not be offensive.

Must be able to pass a 10-year criminal background check, fingerprinting, and DOT/FAA drug screenings.
Training and Onboarding
Successful candidates will attend 6.5 weeks of initial training in Houston, TX. During this period, the company provides a $140 weekly stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and two meals per day. Upon successful completion of training and base orientation, graduates receive a $1,000 bonus and become full-time employees.

Industry-leading pay: Starting hourly flight pay of $37.10, with top of base scale reaching $100.13/hour by 2030.
