Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The successful Captain will be primarily responsible for the safe, reliable, and prudent operation of the Falcon 7X aircraft, adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Solairus Aviation’s stringent operational policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for all assigned flights aboard the Falcon 7X aircraft.
  • Ensuring the absolute safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew throughout the flight profile.
  • Diligently reviewing the aircraft’s maintenance status and verifying airworthiness prior to dispatch.
  • Executing a comprehensive pre-flight inspection in strict accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Thoroughly checking weather forecasts, facility conditions, and logistical details for the intended route of flight, including primary and alternate airports.
  • Ensuring that the flight is conducted in accordance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and established Solairus Aviation policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork, logs, and documentation according to current operational protocols.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications and Flight Experience

Candidates are required to possess a proven track record of aviation professionalism and meet the following minimum flight experience thresholds:

  • Total Flight Time: 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: 1,500 hours
  • MEL PIC Time: 500 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet Aircraft: 500 hours
  • Instrument Time: 250 hours

Specific Certifications and Operational Requirements

  • Type Rating on the Falcon 7X aircraft or a type rating on a comparable large-cabin business jet is required.
  • The applicant must hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • The Captain must be available and prepared to work on an on-call basis to meet dynamic operational demands.
  • Commitment to completing required ICAO International procedures training annually is mandatory.
  • The candidate must establish their primary residence within a two-hour driving radius of the KIAD base or demonstrate a commitment to immediate relocation.

Solairus collects salary range information based on current market conditions from multiple industry sources. Solairus crewmember compensation is competitive and ranges between $50,000 and $500,000 annually. Final salary determination is based on factors including geographic area, experience level, equipment type (Falcon 7X), specific job duties, training requirements, and the assigned client account.
