Position Overview
Executive Jet Management is actively recruiting highly qualified candidates for the role of Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream G550 aircraft, based at St. Paul Downtown Airport (STP). This position operates under Part 91 flight rules, primarily serving domestic destinations with occasional international travel. The account is supported by two dedicated Maintenance Technicians. The Lead PIC serves as a peer leader within the flight department, with a strong emphasis on effective crew resource management, client service excellence, and the diligent completion of administrative duties. The Lead PIC will actively participate in the flight schedule, adhering to all standard PIC duties and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Leading Flight Department Success
- Cultivates and manages key client relationships, effectively balancing client needs with EJM's operational requirements.
- Engages with the client's Aircraft Committee on a quarterly basis to provide updates and strategic input.
- Collaborates closely with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events (scheduled and unscheduled), and the timely completion of regular tasks, including database updates, audits, and checklist procedures.
- Performs other account-specific duties as expected, such as invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling, in alignment with defined expectations.
- Mentors flight department crew members, providing clear direction on tasks and motivating the team to achieve departmental goals while consistently representing the EJM brand. Reports concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
- Manages all flight department administrative matters, including but not limited to office and aircraft supplies, subscriptions, and comprehensive crew scheduling and associated communications.
Ensuring Safe and Efficient Flight Operations
- Verifies that all crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment.
- Utilizes the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead essential briefings and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with company personnel. Serves as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as per company policy.
- Conducts thorough aircraft pre-flight inspections, including a comprehensive review of the aircraft's maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen levels, are managed and accomplished according to SOPs.
- Delivers professional passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations. Provides the highest caliber of customer service, accommodating any special passenger needs, including those of physically challenged individuals.
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience
- Provides premium service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations promptly and effectively.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and high-quality service experience for all owners and passengers. Addresses and resolves conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance
- Maintains all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports any safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Ensures all crew members maintain the necessary qualifications to perform their assigned duties in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Verifies that all crew members adhere to company policies and that appropriate audits are maintained.

Qualifications
Certifications and Licenses:
- First Class Medical Certificate
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- Valid U.S. Passport
Experience:
- 8-10 years of aviation experience required.
- Prior Lead Captain experience in corporate/business aviation is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of management experience is required; five years is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (G550).
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 5000 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 3000 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet Flight Time: 2500 hours
- International flying experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
