Pilot in Command (PIC) - G550

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a subsidiary of NetJets and a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command position operating a G550 aircraft. This role is based at STP Airport in St. Paul, Minnesota, and operates under Part 91 regulations, primarily for domestic travel with occasional international trips. The flight department is supported by dedicated maintenance technicians. Residing within a one-hour drive of STP airport is required, as the position is not commutable.

Purpose of Position

The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safe operation of all flights, including compliance with crewing and trip assignments.
  • Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks.
  • Utilizes the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology for briefings and risk mitigation.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with relevant personnel.
  • Acts as Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as per company policy.
  • Performs aircraft pre-flight checks, verifies maintenance status, and records discrepancies according to SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen) is performed in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations, providing superior customer service and accommodating special needs.
  • Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during all flight operations.
  • Provides high-quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience and resolving service deviations.
  • Collaborates with crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience, resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Maintains required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
  • Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Certifications and Licenses

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
  • First Class Medical Certificate

Years of Experience

  • 4-6 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
  • FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
  • G550 type rating is preferred.
  • International experience is required.
