Job Summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Gulfstream 550 Pilot to serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) as a member of a professional flight crew and maintenance team. This role is instrumental in meeting operations, training, and safety management goals. The successful candidate will be an initial cadre member responsible for establishing Gulfstream 550 flight operations and training existing organizational pilots on the G550. Responsibilities include adherence to all scheduling, coordinating, training, certification, and qualification requirements, as well as compliance with crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures. This position demands close coordination with the customer to foster a culture of safety through efficient procedures that support outstanding customer service. On-call responsibilities and occasional short-notice travel are anticipated.

Relocation to within a 1-hour response time of Richmond, VA International Airport is required.

Essential Functions

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• Eventual type qualification in the Boeing 757 will be required.
• Ability to obtain an airport clearance/security badge (FAA).
• ATP certification with experience in aircraft with a Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTGW) of 74,000 lbs or greater.
• High level of skill, tact, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Experience with daily interface with customers across multiple levels.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Ability to lift, move, and maneuver 50-75 pounds above the head.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, OR a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Class II FAA Flight Physical (First Class if age 65 or older) and the ability to obtain and maintain medical certification for worldwide travel.
• Minimum 3,000 total flight hours.
• Minimum 1,500 Pilot in Command (PIC) flight hours.
• Minimum 1,500 multi-engine turbine hours.
• 1,000 flight hours specifically in a G550.
• Current U.S. passport.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

When evaluating flight time for applicants meeting basic qualifications, consideration will be given to quality, quantity, recent experience, verifiability of training, complexity of aircraft flown, types of flight operations, and hours flown as PIC in turbine-powered aircraft. Preferred Additional Skills

• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
• Familiarity or experience with FAA FAR Part 91/121/125/135.
• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and/or Military Instructor Pilot experience is highly desired.
• Current worldwide international experience.
• Experience with other transport category aircraft, specifically Boeing 737, 757, or 767, is highly desired.
