Position Overview

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively recruiting qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command (PIC) position on a Challenger 300 aircraft. This role is based in Opa-Locka, Florida (OPF). The position is part of a two-pilot operation, supported by dedicated maintenance personnel, with an anticipated flight schedule of approximately 300 hours per year under EJM's Part 135 certificate. The Pilot in Command (PIC) is ultimately accountable for ensuring the aircraft is operated safely, in compliance with all regulations, and with maximum efficiency. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory mandates while delivering an outstanding service experience to passengers.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Safe Flight Operations

  • Verifies that crewing and trip assignments meet all company and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Completes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment.
  • Employs the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead essential briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collaborates with relevant company personnel. Assumes responsibilities as the Ground Security Coordinator and In-Flight Security Coordinator as outlined in company policy.
  • Conducts all pre-flight aircraft inspections, including verification of maintenance status, to confirm the aircraft is mission-ready. Documents all aircraft discrepancies in strict accordance with company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing requirements, such as fueling and fluid replenishment, are executed in compliance with SOPs.
  • Performs passenger briefings according to company policy and regulatory requirements, providing the highest caliber of customer service and accommodating special passenger needs, including those with physical challenges.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during all operational phases, including normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience

  • Provides superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality service experience for all owners and passengers. Manages and resolves conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance

  • Sustains all regulatory and company-mandated training and recency of experience requirements.
  • Actively participates in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports any safety concerns or instances of non-compliance through designated channels.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications (KSAOs)

  • Previous experience in corporate aviation is required.
  • Previous experience operating under Part 135 regulations is required.
  • FAA Type Rating in the CL300 is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
    • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument Flight Time: 300 hours
    • Jet Flight Time: 500 hours
