Global 6000 Second-in-Command

Solairus Aviation seeks a dedicated and highly skilled Second-in-Command for a full-time position operating a Global 6000 aircraft, based in the Chicago, Illinois area (Wheeling, IL). The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member who is committed to excellence in all aspects of their duties. This role requires adherence to Solairus’ commitment to safety, service, and integrity while meeting the travel needs of our discerning clientele.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Second-in-Command is responsible for the safe operation of the Global 6000 aircraft. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safe and prudent conduct of flights.
  • Reviewing aircraft maintenance status.
  • Performing thorough pre-flight inspections according to the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Conducting comprehensive checks of weather, facilities, and alternate airports along the flight route.
  • Adhering to Solairus Aviation's policies, procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintaining the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1000 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum of 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • Minimum of 500 hours Multi-Engine Land (MEL) time.
  • Minimum of 100 hours Multi-Engine Land PIC time.
  • Minimum of 100 hours in Turbo Jet aircraft.
  • Minimum of 75 hours of instrument time.

Specific Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Type rating on the Global 6000 or comparable aircraft.
  • Possession of a current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis.
  • Completion of annual ICAO International procedures training.
  • Primary residence in the Chicago area or willingness to relocate.

Solairus Aviation provides competitive compensation, with salaries ranging from $50,000 to $500,000, based on factors including geographic location, experience, aircraft type, job duties, training, and assigned account.
