Primary Job Duties

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers throughout all phases of flight.
  • Maintain a positive, productive work environment for both customers and fellow crew members.
  • Manage in-flight services, including the preparation and sale of beverages, meals, and snacks.
  • Greet passengers, assist with carry-on stowage, and deliver clear onboard announcements.
  • Provide decisive leadership during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Manage and resolve passenger issues, including medical emergencies and unruly behavior.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections and operate safety equipment, including escape slides, fire extinguishers, oxygen systems, and AEDs.
  • Execute all company procedures and safety standards independently and accurately.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport (valid for at least 12 months from the application date) and necessary visas for travel to Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) for reporting and safety communication.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices and personal electronic devices (PEDs) for operational and training tasks.
  • Ability to work varied shifts of up to 16 hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working without direct supervision for extended periods.
  • Willingness to relocate to an assigned crew domicile, including: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boise, ID; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Fresno, CA; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; or Tucson, AZ.

Physical and Appearance Standards

  • Height must be between 5'0" and 6'0" (without shoes) to ensure safe operation of aircraft systems and jump seats.
  • Physical ability to walk frequently, reach above shoulder level, bend below ankle level, open emergency exits, close cabin doors (up to 45 lbs), and maneuver beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
  • Corrected vision not to exceed 20/40; hearing range within 15-17kHZ (normal or corrected).
  • Professional appearance required: neat grooming standards, specific jewelry/piercing limitations, and tattoo coverage guidelines.
  • Must wear company-issued uniform and mandated face coverings.

Compensation and Training

New hire flight attendants receive a guarantee of 76 flight hours per month following the successful completion of initial training. Starting pay is $30.32 per flight hour. Additionally, employees receive $2.25 per diem for every hour on duty away from their home domicile.
