Primary Job Duties

+ Conduct Basic Indoctrination training (FARs, Company policy and procedures, etc.) for New Hires and Requalification pilots at the Salt Lake Training Facility.

+ Maintain a high level of knowledge of general subjects; to include, but not limited to, FOM, OpsSpecs, GDPM, SOPM, Weight/Balance, Performance and Systems.

+ Special projects as assigned – 5.0 credit for each company business day (8.0 hours scheduled)

+ Instruction compensation – 6.0 credit for each ground training day (8.0 hours scheduled)

Schedule / Accommodations / Travel

+ Basic Indoctrination instructors are typically scheduled 10-15 teaching sessions (days) a month

+ Assigned training sessions can vary from 0-21 a month

+ Hotels provided for instructors upon request when teaching (please ask for details during the interview)

+ SkyWest doesn’t currently provide positive space travel for instructors that live outside of the SLC area. Travel to/from Salt Lake City will be instructor’s responsibility.

Minimum Requirements

+ 121 flight experience

+ Cannot be in the DMA program (applicable to company pilots)

+ Cannot be in Special Tracking (applicable to company pilots)

+ Accept a 12-month commitment from date of qualification

Preferred Skills:

+ SkyWest First Officer

+ 100+ hours CL-65 or ERJ-170 flight experience

+ Teaching experience

Physical and Other Requirements

+ Required to maintain pilot currency (non-active pilots maintain currency with Jumpseat Observations)

+ Teaching pre-assignments will be scheduled prior to PBS bidding (applicable to company pilots)
