The Air Steward is responsible for delivering exceptional service standards, consistently exceeding customer expectations on both European and Intercontinental flights. Key responsibilities include organizing, structuring, and supervising the premium dining experience across SAS Business, Plus, and Go Classes. Furthermore, the role involves guiding and briefing colleagues on overall in-flight workflow and service delivery, fostering a seamless operational environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Educational qualifications or vocational certifications in hospitality, culinary arts, sommelier training, or experience as a waiter/waitress or chef are highly advantageous, demonstrating a strong passion for food and wine.
  • Previous experience as Cabin Crew is desired.

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Height between 160 cm and 190 cm (without shoes) is required.
  • A completed high school education or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English (Berlitz level B2 or equivalent minimum B) is essential.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong swimming skills.
  • The ability to comply strictly with SAS uniform regulations is necessary, including specific guidelines regarding tattoos and piercings: no tattoos on the face, no tattoos with offensive or religious motives, and no piercings that conflict with SAS Uniform Policy. Tattoos on hands or neck must not exceed one centimeter in size and are limited to a maximum of one.
  • A valid EU passport permitting unrestricted global travel is required.
  • Eligibility to live and work permanently in Denmark is mandatory.

Security Requirements

  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a security interview and background check for airport access cards, completing an approved training course, and meeting all company-defined Cabin Crew requirements.
  • Candidates must possess excellent physical and mental health, with good vision (+/- 0.7 with or without corrections), and be able to obtain an EASA-compliant health certificate.
  • Successful completion of pre-course drug and alcohol tests (blood and urine samples), to be taken before the start of the course, is mandatory.
  • As work is conducted within airport security areas, an exhaustive police certificate/clean record and approval by aviation authorities are also required.
