Air Steward / Cabin Crew Specialist – Premium Service and Global Travel

Role Summary and Core Responsibilities

The Air Steward is responsible for exceeding customer expectations on both European and Intercontinental flights. This esteemed role requires a passion for food and wine, combined with an unwavering commitment to safety, ensuring travelers experience the highest level of care and comfort.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing, structuring, and supervising the premium dining experience across SAS Business, Plus, and Go Classes.
  • Guiding and briefing colleagues on the overall in-flight workflow, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security throughout all flight phases.
  • Acting as a true ambassador for Scandinavia, enhancing the travel experience through meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Candidates must demonstrate a robust professional history and relevant skills suitable for a high-paced, customer-facing environment:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Prior experience as Cabin Crew (Flight Attendant) is highly desired.
  • Formal education or vocational certification in hospitality, waiter/waitress service, culinary arts, or sommelier studies is a significant advantage, particularly demonstrating a strong passion for fine food and wine.

Mandatory Requirements

To ensure full compliance with aviation regulations and company standards, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Height must be between 160 cm and 190 cm (without shoes).
  • Successful completion of education to a minimum level of high school or equivalent.
  • Fluency in the English language is mandatory (Berlitz level B2 or equivalent minimum).
  • Demonstrate strong swimming skills.
  • Possess a valid EU passport, permitting unrestricted worldwide travel.
  • Be legally eligible to live and work permanently in Denmark.

Uniform and Appearance Standards

The candidate must strictly adhere to SAS Uniform Policy. This includes prohibitions on facial tattoos. Tattoos on the hands or neck are limited to a maximum of one, not exceeding one centimeter in size. Tattoos with offensive or religious motives, and most piercings, are not permitted.

Security and Health Compliance

Employment is strictly conditional upon meeting rigorous regulatory requirements designed to maintain aviation security and safety:

  • Successful completion and approval of an exhaustive police certificate/clean record, required for access to security-related airport areas.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an EASA Cabin Crew Medical Certificate, requiring good physical and mental health, and good vision (+/- 0.7 with or without corrections).
  • Employment requires an approved security interview and background check for access cards.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass mandatory drug and alcohol tests (blood and urine samples) prior to the commencement of the training course.
