Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must fulfill the following essential criteria. All licenses and certificates must be valid and current at the time of application.
- EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (A), Commercial Pilot Licence (A), or Multi-Crew Pilot License*
- EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Completion of an Advanced UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) course
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6
- Unrestricted legal right to live and work within the European Union (EU)
- Clean criminal record
- Completion of a Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) Course
*Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted, but conversion is required prior to the commencement of any training course.
As a mandatory condition of employment with SAS, successful applicants will be required to undergo a comprehensive background check, a personal security interview, and a drug and alcohol test. Both the security interview and testing procedures will be conducted at the candidate's designated base city.

Recruitment Process
The SAS Pilot Recruitment process consists of the following structured steps. It is important to note that each stage may be disqualifying.
- CV Screening: A thorough review of qualifications, licenses, and flight experience, with particular attention to clearly stated total hours, PIC (Pilot-in-Command), and PICUS (Pilot-in-Command Under Supervision).
- Video Interview: Candidates will record responses to a set of predefined interview questions.
- Online Interview: A live, virtual interview conducted with an SAS recruiter.
- Online Tests: Completion of cognitive and personality assessments.
- Assessment Day: This stage includes group exercises, a simulator session, and a personal interview conducted in-person.
- Final Checks: Comprehensive background screening, a personal security interview, and mandatory drug & alcohol testing.
