First Officer - Cadet Recruitment at SAS – Scandinavian Airlines

SAS – Scandinavian Airlines System is currently seeking motivated, newly graduated cadets to join the airline as First Officers. This position is designed for pilots with little to no airline experience who are committed to a long-term career and the pursuit of professional growth within a safety-driven, structured environment.

Role Overview

Successful candidates will enter a professional framework supported by experienced instructors and captains. Minimum Requirements

  • Valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Valid EASA CPL(A) or MPL license.
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6.
  • Completed MCC course.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • Clean criminal record.

Note: Licenses and medical certificates must be valid and up to date at the time of application. Licenses issued by Denmark, Sweden, or Norway are preferred; non-Scandinavian EASA licenses must be converted prior to course start.

Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of several stages, any of which may be disqualifying:

  1. CV and document screening.
  2. Video interview.
  3. Online interview with an SAS representative.
  4. Online cognitive and personality assessments.
  5. Assessment Day (including group exercise, simulator session, and interview).
  6. Final checks (background screening, security interview, and drug & alcohol testing).

  • Progress check reports (IFR, VFR, MCC).
  • ATPL theory results (if completed).
  • Pilot license.
  • Medical certificate.

Salary levels are determined by collective agreements and are non-negotiable.
