With a modern fleet exceeding 100 aircraft—including the integration of up to 55 Embraer E195-E2 units—SAS invites experienced Captains and First Officers to join a professional, future-focused Scandinavian aviation environment.

Candidate Requirements

All candidates must hold valid licenses and meet the following criteria at the time of application:

  • Unrestricted EASA ATPL (A); non-Scandinavian EASA licenses (ATPL, CPL, or MPL) are accepted but must be converted prior to course commencement.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical and Instrument Rating.
  • ICAO English Level 5 or 6.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • Clean criminal record.

Flight Time Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following experience profiles:

  • 4,000 total flight hours, including 250 hours as PIC or PICUS.
  • 3,500 total flight hours, including 500 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T.
  • 3,000 total flight hours, including 1,000 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T.

Recruitment Process

SAS reviews applications on a continuous basis. Selected candidates will proceed through the following stages:

  1. Online recruiter interview.
  2. Online cognitive and personality assessments.
  3. Assessment Day: Group exercises, simulator session, and personal interview.
  4. Final Checks: Background screening, security interview, and medical testing.

Previous applicants who were not invited to an assessment may reapply at any time; those who were previously unsuccessful at an assessment may reapply after 24 months. Employment is scheduled to commence in summer/fall 2026, with assessments anticipated during the spring/summer of 2026.
