SAS is seeking experienced and highly motivated Airbus A320 Captains to join its expanding operations in Copenhagen, Denmark. This Direct Entry Captain position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading Scandinavian airline known for its commitment to punctuality, sustainability, and growth, as it prepares for its largest-ever summer program and fleet expansion.

The Direct Entry Captain role on the Airbus A320 fleet is based in Copenhagen. Candidates can choose between a 100% full-time permanent contract or a flexible 83.3% part-time agreement, structured for seasonal flying with 100% rostering during summer and December, and 50–75% during other periods.

Requirements

Candidates for this Airbus A320 Captain position must meet the following minimum criteria at the time of application:

  • Unrestricted EASA ATPL(A) (non-Scandinavian EASA licenses accepted, subject to conversion before course start)
  • Valid Class 1 Medical certificate
  • Valid Instrument Rating
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU
  • Clean criminal record

Qualifications

Beyond the core requirements, successful Captains will possess the following flight experience and operational qualifications:

  • 4,000+ hours Total Time
  • 2,000+ hours on jet aircraft or high-speed turboprops
  • 1,000+ hours Pilot In Command (PIC) on aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) above 55.0 tonnes
  • Demonstrated experience with winter operations

All licenses and requirements must be fully met and valid at the time of application. The recruitment process includes a background check, personal security interview, and drug and alcohol testing, which must be completed in Copenhagen.
