First Officer Vacancy at SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System

SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System is seeking newly graduated cadets to join our flight operations. This role offers an opportunity to build a long-term career within a structured, safety-driven environment supported by experienced mentors and instructors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Valid EASA CPL(A) or MPL.
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6.
  • Completed MCC course.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • Clean criminal record.

All licenses and medical certificates must be valid at the time of application. Licenses are preferred to be issued by Denmark, Sweden, or Norway; non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted provided they are converted before course commencement. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of background screening, personal security interviews, and drug and alcohol testing.

Recruitment Process

The selection process comprises the following stages:

  1. CV and document screening.
  2. Video interview.
  3. Online interview with an SAS representative.
  4. Online cognitive and personality assessments.
  5. Assessment Day (group exercise, simulator session, and interview).
  6. Final checks (background screening, security interview, and drug/alcohol testing).

Each stage is subject to evaluation and may be disqualifying. Simulator assessments may be scheduled independently of the Assessment Day.

SAS is currently recruiting for positions at the following bases:

  • BGO: E195
  • ARN: A320
  • OSL: E195 and A320
  • CPH: E195 and A320

Application Guidelines

  • Progress check reports (IFR, VFR, MCC).
  • ATPL theory results (if completed).
  • Pilot license.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Recruitment is currently focused on courses commencing in Fall 2026 for operations in Summer 2027. Candidates who have previously attended an Assessment Day but were unsuccessful may reapply after 24 months.
